Jaehee's Point of View
The chairman has been very frustrated since I've shown him the files. He's been more hotheaded and fidgety than normal. When making my daily routine of drinking my fifth cup of coffee, I heard the footsteps of high heeled shoes. I turned my head to see who it was since I'm the only female in this organization. "Hey, Jaehee." The woman said in her usual snarky tone. "Good morning, Miss Alexandra." I replied, pouring too much cream in my coffee. "My, My you're always so formal." The woman giggled. I rolled my eyes and made my way to my desk. I personally don't like her, since she has the personality of a popular high school cheerleader. While I'm the nerd who is doing their classwork for their A.P. class. Interrupting my thoughts were the angry footsteps of Chairman Han crossing the rugged carpet. The silence in the office sent an uneasy feeling down my spine. "Alexandra Fitz, I need you to come to my office." His stern tone sent fear into everyone in the office, including me. "That's a rude way to greet me." Alexandra sighed, crossing the rugged carpet. The chairman's glare struck me afterward. "Ms. Kang, I would like for you to come with me." Without hesitation, I rose from my maroon chair and scurried to his office.✧ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✦✧✦ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✧
Inside his office was the usual crew: Mr. Han, the Chairman, Miss Alexandra, Mr. Holmes, and my dear friend Y/N. "I'm glad you two could make it so soon." The Chairman said, hugging his daughter-in-law. "All I had was a little fever." Y/N replied, easing the spirits of the Chairman. "I know I wanted to already be here, but her doctor's appointment was on the same day." Mr. Han said, resetting his posture. "Also, you are a father of three." I added in a mousey voice. "Three?!" Miss Alexandra yelped. "All this time I was a grandmother!" Her voice was filled with shock and anger. "Calm down." The Chairman ordered as he opened the confidential folder on his desk. The silence in the room was suffocating, making it very hard to breathe. Inside the manila folder, were documents pertaining to the trial of Miss Alexandra and Y/N's father. There was also a compact-disk taped inside. Jumin stepped forward and retrieved the CD and turned on the TV. "This disk along with the files were recovered by the judge in that trial." Jumin stated, pressing the play button the remote. Everyone in the room turned their heads to the television screen.

The trial opened up in its usual way: everyone in the courtroom rises as the defendant and the plaintiff are being introduced. I noticed the eye contact Alexandra was making to the judge, it made me feel uneasy. The footage kept going and my heart began to race. "Mr. Han," I began, interrupting everyone. Jumin pressed the pause button and motioned me to speak. "How could they present such claims with zero evidence?" I asked, analyzing the portion I saw. "Technically, they can't." He replied, glaring at his mother-in-law. "Then why is this judge allowing it?" I asked. Mr. Holmes, who was studying the paused clip, let out a sigh. "Alexandra, were you sleeping with the judge to get what you want?" He asked bluntly. Everyone in the room collectively gasped, including Jumin, which was funny. "Father, what are you saying?" Y/N asked. Poor girl, she's been in this toxic web for far too long. "Sweetheart, your mother is a whore." He said, tossing a ring on the floor. Everyone stared at the ring, which was studded in diamonds. "That's your wedding band from our wedding," Alexandra said through upcoming tears. "You kept it all this time?" She asked. Unlike me, everyone was confused in the room. I understood what was going on perfectly. "Mr. Holmes, you kept the ring after so many years because you truly believed that Miss Alexandra would come back from the toxicity that she is surrounded in?" I asked, knowing that I was right. He nodded at my response. "I fell in love with Alexandra since junior high, when we first met." He began. "Since those years and forward, her former friends would always leave because they believe she was a snake. I thought they were just being mean, but instead, they were right." I could sense the pressure Y/N was under. It's pretty obvious she never heard this before. "When we had our son, she would always run away when he needed her the most." I honestly don't remember hearing Y/N or Mr. Holmes talk about Y/N's brother. I wonder why he decided to bring it up now. "Vincent loved you more than me, Alexandra. That boy did everything in his power to make you happy." My eyes widened after hearing the name. 'Vincent? Did Y/N say something about naming one of the twins?' Jumin cleared his throat to signify that he was going to speak. "Y/N, you gave one of our sons the name Vincent because he reminded you of your brother?" Y/N nodded, answering Mr. Han's question. Alexandra released a gasp. "My brother would have been here if you showed him a bit of love." Y/N's voice shook between tears. "He told me every day that you always made him feel worthless. You always told him that he was useless." The unsettling atmosphere turned emotional. I noticed Y/N and her father trying to hold back all their tears. "The boy took his life because of you. He wanted you to be proud of him, but you were always so damn evil."

The room went silent again. Alexandra showed no emotion. She interrupted the silence with a giggle. "Vincent killed himself because he was a hormonal teenager. I had nothing to do with it." Y/N went into her purse and pulled out a composition notebook. It was beat-up and old and some of the pages were probably stained. "Mother, Father, I'm not sure if you know this but Vincent had this journal." Y/N paused for a second and wiped her tears with her sleeve. Before she could continue, Jumin handed her a box of tissue so her clothes wouldn't be damaged. "Thank you." She mumbled before continuing. "I would always see him write in it every day. When I asked him what he was doing, he would always say that he's writing poems. When he died this journal was on my bed with this red stickie note on it." Y/N pointed to the stickie note that says 'Y/N if you get your hands on this easily then I'm probably dead.' Mr. Holmes stared at the stickie note. It was obvious that he's familiar with the handwriting. "That's exactly how he writes his p's." The man let out a small chuckle. "When I first saw it on my bed, I opened it. My brother was planning his suicide on his twelfth birthday. He died at sixteen!" It was obvious that Alexandra wasn't bothered by this at all. "You know that how?" She asked in her usually snarky tone. "Each page is dated." Y/N replied, rolling her eyes. "I'm just going to start on the day of his birthday." Y/N said, flipping through the pages of the journal. Jumin motioned everyone to listen to Y/N as she cleared her throat to begin.

Saturday, 8th July
Today I turned twelve. As usual, my little sister Y/N bakes me a cake out of her easy bake oven and dad grills burgers for me. I'm grateful for my mother and sister, but I wish I could be for my mother. I love my mother with all my heart, but she hates me. She always tell me how useless I am and I have no purpose. A couple of weeks before starting this journal, my mother harassed the living hell out of Y/N. She came into my room balling her eyes out because the horrid things mother said to her. I would always hear her say things along the lines of "You useless bitch!" or "You are a disgrace!" From an outsider's perspective, we were the family everyone strived to be. It was because we were rich and we were always smiling outside of our home. I wish they could see how many tears were shed behind closed doors. We used to have a puppy. He was a corgi named Gizmo. Dad told me he ran away to find a happier household. I didn't blame the poor pup. I believed Dad's lie until I saw that dog's head smashed open by the outdoor garbage while I was taking out the trash. Mom's old softball bat was next to it, so it left me with no choice to believe that my mom was a murderer.✧ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✦✧✦ ▬▭▬ ▬▭▬ ✧
I could tell that there were more words on the page, but Y/N was so shaken up from what she read. I could tell this is her first time reading this and having her own mother in the room too. "I told the kids that Gizmo ran away because that's what you told me." Y/N's father said with anger in his voice. "He did." Alexandra began as she pulled out a lighter to light her cigarette. "Smoking indoors?! Do you have any respect, woman?" The chairman asked, covering his nose. "Gizmo tried to run away, so I punished him." I'm not a pet person myself, but I would never beat an animal for running away. With all the toxicity that went on in their household, the dog wanted no part of it. As Y/N's brother said, I don't blame the dog for leaving.

Unlike me and the Chairman, Jumin was tapping along on his cellphone. He seemed completely zoned out it was like he was conducting something secretly. "I think it's funny as hell that my daughter marries a man who is tapping away on his phone instead of comforting her mental state." Alexandra giggled evilly. Jumin looked up and a small, sadistic smile formed upon her lips. "I was conducting some important business." He replied calmly without any hesitation. Loud knocks were heard on the mahogany door that stood behind me. I turned and opened the door. On the other side, it was two of the building's security guards. "Mr. Han, who would you like for us to arrest? We have the entire building surrounded." The taller man said, pulling out handcuffs. Jumin's cold eyes glared at Alexandra and without hesitation the security guards arrested her. She didn't even try to resist. "Thank you, Mr. Han, but we all know she would find a way out." Mr. Holmes said, twiddling his thumbs. "No need to thank me. I've already arranged a court date in a couple of days so she wouldn't try anything slick." He responded, stroking the hair of his wife. "Oh, Mr. Han, you are a good man." I accidentally said. My cheeks flushed with red and the entire room erupted in laughter.
