"Ashley hurry make me breakfist!" I looked at the clock, only an hour of sleep, at least I got 30 more minutes extra. I stood up from my desk and walked towards my door. I wasn't fully awake because I could barely walk. I opened the door as Sean zoomed past me.
"Early morning mask again?" I ask, he nods as he runs down the stairs. My mom always gets up early and wants the mask. She thinks it makes her pores look smaller when the only thing they do is make her skin red for a couple hours.
I walk slowly down the stairs, making sure I don't trip. If I trip it slows me down and that mean't I wasn't getting breakfist ready. I had to hurry though or my dad would get mad. I creeped into the kitchen and got out all the stuff to make an omelette. Putting the pan on the burner I hear, "You done yet Ashley?"
"Ya almost done," I had to hurry. I got out a glass and poured some milk in. Then I put the omelette on the plate. I picked up everything, almost dropped it all, then served it to my dad. He looked unhappy, it wasn't my best work.
"A bit burnt huh," He took a bite. Please don't spit it out, please don't spit it out. He swallowed it and drunk some milk.
"Anything else?" I asked hoping there wouldn't be anything else.
"Go get the mail!" he yelled. I forgot to get the mail, crap! I ran out the door in slippers and my pjs when I forgot the key. I stopped in the middle of the road and went to run the other way when a car drove towards me. I leaped out of the way just in time and scrapped my knee so hard it was bleeding in a matter of seconds. Holding the wound, I looked at the car. It was a red comfortable, a nice one. The door opened and out rushed a woman with terror on her face.
"I am so sorry! Are you okay!?! I looked down then looked up and couldn't break fast enough!" I nodded then I realized I was crying. It wasn't hurting that bad. The woman helped me up. I tried to stand up but I couldn't, it was pounding.
"Okay I don't care what you where doing, or how important it was, I am going to take you do the hospital!" She said trying to lift me up.
"No I am good I have to get back home," I said gritting through the pain. She ignored me and walked me to the passenger side of the car. It smelled of new car and pine. She helped me put on my seat belt and walked over to the other side of the car. I felt like a kid.
"So what's your name?" the woman asked as she buckled herself then started the car.
"Ashley...."
"Wait you live at the huge mansion on the corner?? Wow! My name is Richie. I was just coming from my drivers test then I run into you, perfect."
"I told you I was fine.... Anyway where are we going?"
"The hospital duh I already told you that"
"Oh ya sorry" After that we drove in silence.

Richie parked then I opened the door and stood up. I started to walk a few paces then I felt a sudden pain go through my leg. I fell on the ground then looked for Richie. She ran over to me and pulled me up. She opened the door to the car and I sat down.
"I am going to get a wheelchair stay here"
"I can go it is fine"
"No stay here"
"Fine!" she walked away to the hospital. I stood up and started walking, slowly, I made it to the next car and put all my weight on it. My knee was pounding.
Richie came just in time, I sat down in the wheelchair. "What were you doing, I told you I was getting a wheelchair for you!" she said.
"I know," I sighed as she wheeled me towards the hospital door. Then a sudden thought went through my mind, my dad is still waiting for the mail. Anxiety filled my whole body and I started sweating.
"Are you okay? You don't look good," Richie said sounding worried. Was I really sweating that much? "Your head is spinning around."
"Umm I don't know," I started seeing stars, I have never had anxiety this bad. I looked at the receptionist, she looked just like my mom. Hey that is my mom," Hi mommy"
"Did she hit her head too?" The girl that looked like my mom said.
"No she started acting weird when I started taking her here," Richie said then looked at me suspiciously. I smiled, but when I blinked I couldn't open my eyes again.

When I finally got my eyes to open up again I was laying in a hospital bed. The only reason why I knew was because there were hospital supplies around me. I looked on the wall, there were x-ray pictures of someone, I am guessing me. I looked for Richie but she was no where to be found. I remembered that I was getting the mail for my dad. I wanted my mattress so I took off the covers. Something stopped me though, my knee. It was hanging up lime on the television that my mom watches. When the female character accidentally does something that results in this. Turns out I am the female character in this show.
I needed to get out though. I remembered that in the show there was a nurse button. I looked around for one, but I couldn't find it. Then the door opens and in comes my mom, dad, Sean, Richie, and what I am guessing the doctor. They all crowded around me, my parents, they actually looked like they were sympathetic for me.
"You okay hun?" my mom asked. She never asked something that included me, ever.
"You must be glad you don't have public school, you would have a lot of homework." my dad said then put his arm around my mom and walked out.
"Take advantage of this. When mom and dad got the call that you were in the hospital they weren't sad or happy, they were mad." Sean whispered into my ear. Then my dad entered the room and asked for Sean. "You are lucky," he quickly said then rushed out of the room.
Richie and the doctor was the last ones in the room. Richie loomed sad, "You are hurt way more then we both thought."
"Yes when you jumped out of the way looked like you broke your ankle. The problem is that we have to do surgery on it." The doctor said.
"What is the good news huh?" I asked.
"Well in that ankle the x-rays found cancer in it. It is a very bad cancer. If you hadn't hurt yourself we wouldn't of found it and it would of affected your whole body. You would have died in a matter of two or three months. Since we found it we can do two surgerys in one. We would have to take and MRI to make sure it isn't anywhere else." So much information was going through my mind.
"Wait what about my knee?"
"It is the least of our problems, it only needed a couple stitches." He said then exited the room for some reason.
"I am so sorry for all this, at such a young age." Richie said.
"How do you know my age?"
"They told me it, I am 16 too."
"You don't have to be sorry, if it weren't for you they wouldn't have found the cancer." I said smiling.
