I don't know what happened that day of the outreach activity but everything seemed changed after that.  Jay has been acting weird these days.  He would always be at our house early in the morning so that we can ride together to school. 

He never fails to text me every part of the day.  Pati Good noon nga meron eh.  And he seems to be everywhere I go.  Palagi naman talaga kaming magkadikit dati nung di ko pa nasasabi sa kanya yung feelings ko.  Pero ako yung nakadikit sa kanya dati.  Ako yung nandoon kung saan siya.  Ako lagi ang naghihintay sa kanya.  And now the roles seemed reversed. 

He would be waiting for me outside the room after my class and would walk with me on my next class.  I would always ask him if he doesn't have class but he will just answer that he has vacant. 

And Jay's gestures confuse me.  He seemed to be sweet these days.  He would carry my bags for me which I refused most of the times.  At yung bagong habit niya ngayon ay yung paglagay ng buhok ko sa likod ng tenga sabay pisil sa ilong ko na parang nanggigigil.  And the way he looks at me now.  Parang may gusto siyang sabihin pero kapag tatanungin ko naman siya, ngingitian lang ako at hindi naman nagsasalita. 

Hindi kaya... Bigla akong napailing.  Imposible ang naiisip ko.  Huh! Don't fool yourself into believing na may something, Dei.  Nothing.  Yun ang meron. Nothing.

Sabado.  Dahil malapit na Intrams, medyo wala na kaming masyadong school work.  I have nothing to do at home that afternoon so I decided to change into my jersey shorts and comfortable shirt.  I took my basketball out of the storage and started heading to the park.  It's been so long since I played basketball.  Yung last pa yata eh nung magkasama sila ni Jay.  I contemplated on texting Jay but decided against it.  I need time alone to think anyway. 

I was in the middle of practicing my shot when suddenly the ball trickled away from me.  Mas nakakapagod pa yata humabol ng bola kesa tumira.  I followed the direction where the ball was heading when I stopped.  Jay was there with the ball.  He started walking towards me.

Hindi ka man lang nagtext na nandito ka pala.  May halong tampong sabi ni Jay.

I thought you'd be out with friends.  Sagot ko habang nakatitig sa kanya. Ang gwapo masyado.  Juzkoh!

Mas gusto kitang kasama. One on one tayo?  Pero dapat may premyo yung panalo.  Nakangising sabi nito.

I smirked too.  Call.

He passed me the ball and smiled. Yung ngiting nakakaloko.  I wanna swiped that smile off his face.  Gameface on, Dei.

First to make three basket wins. Sabi ko while sizing him up facing the basket.  I know mahihirapan ako sa depensa ni Jay kasi naman, hello, ang tangkad kaya ng tukmol na to.  Pero madadaan naman lahat sa bilis at skills. 

I dribbled in front of him trying to caught his defense off guard.  I dribbled right then left, never looking away.  I dribbled right again then faked one on the left.  I got my opportunity when he called on my fake and tried to steal the ball.  I immediately spin off my right and drive straight through the hoop for a lay up, leaving Jay behind me. 

I caught the ball and passed it to him for his turn.  1 - 0 Dei. 

Not bad with that crossover and spin move, Dei.  But that would be your last.  Di papatalong sabi nito. 

I tried hard to distract him and defend him.  But I could only do so much with my defense when he backed me up and forced his way in to the hoop and scores.  Tied at 1-1.

I was hardly breathing ten minutes into the game.  Jay scored his second basket through a jump shot.  How could I stop that? 

It's my turn.  Jay is daring me to shoot.  He is so confident that he got this.  But I never loses hope when it comes to basketball.  Sabi nga nila, Bilog ang bola.

I dribbled ten feet away from the basket and seized an opportunity to step back and make a jumper.  I was on the air when Jay came up and tried to swat my shot.  I didn't get distracted by his defense though.  Mas nagulat ako dahil ang lapit ng mukha niya sa mukha ko.  I glanced at his lips.  Parang ang sarap halikan.

It was a blur when I landed from my shot.  At dahil nga nadistract ako, my shot came up short.  Napatingin ako sa kanya.  Nakangisi yung loko. 

Sinadya mo yun noh? Ang daya mo! Reklamo ko sa kanya.

What?  I just did defense, Dei.  It's my turn.  Paano ba yan? Pag naipasok ko to, panalo na ko. 

Napabuntong hininga na lang ako and face him for defense.  I tried to make myself big and longer to distract him.  My arms are flailing all over his face.  Natigilan ako nang makita ko yung mata niya.  He's looking straight at me.  I felt myself shiver. 

It was all in a slow motion when he suddenly moved towards me, kissed me on the corner of my lips and moved fast to the basket for a dunk.  I stay rooted on the spot,  my hand touching the part he kissed.  Napatingin na lang ako sa kanya nung nasa harap ko na siya. 

3-1, Jay wins.  Natatawang sabi nito.

I shook my head to distract myself and tried to hide the redness of my face. 

Ang daya mo naman eh! Kainis ka!

The rule is that the first to make three basket wins di ba?  I made just that so I win.  Natatawang sabi niya.

Napalabi na lang ako at tinanong kung ano yung gusto niyang premyo.

Napatingin na naman siya sa akin, seryoso ang mukha.  Ramdam ko naman ang pamumula ng mukha ko nang napatingin siya sa mga labi ko. 

Then he looked me straight in the eyes and said, Go on a date with me, Dei.

Napasinok ako.

** Waaah.  Kumusta naman ang late update? Kinain na naman ako ng KDrama, mga bes! Hahahahah.
