The next few days were full of organizing and campaigning, campaigning, campaigning.

The two candidates were Aaron Burr and Thomas Jefferson. George King has decided not to run this time around.

Alex couldn't say he wasn't surprised at Burr's running. He had assumed the other boy would never be so forward.

But here they were. Maybe Angelica had had an influence on him.

Despite the fact that he was running, Burr's campaign wasn't very passionate. He didn't seem to have anything to say about anything really.

But he was charming. He had turned it up several notches, and Alex could tell he was going to win a lot of votes that way.

Burr had asked Alex to be his vice-president, but Alex had enthusiastically refused. There was no way he was working with Burr.

So Adams had filled that spot, and Jefferson had, naturally, convinced Madison to be his.

Jefferson's campaign. Now that was something.

Everything he said and did was dripping with passion. He was sure of himself, and, though less charming than Burr, was certainly charismatic.

Lafayette brought that up one day at lunch.

"You know, I must admit that Jefferson has quite a magnetic personality."

The rest of the group nodded their agreement.

"But he's still a jerk," Alex muttered.

John, who say next to him, laughed. "If we hated everyone you though was a jerk, then we'd have no friends."

Alex couldn't deny that.

Tension was high those few days.

Eliza and Angelica were, naturally, ignoring Alex. He found that as time went on it hurt him more and more. But what could he do about it?

He fell asleep each night stressed and a little upset.

What was wrong with him?

A/N: Ugh. This is such a filler chapter. I'm sorry guys. Remember to vote if you enjoyed! And I always love comments!
