Vic's POVThe following morning I woke up and I glared at the bed across from me, someone was sitting on it with a beeping machine.
"Vic, you need to get your vitals done okay?" I rolled over on my back and stuck my arm out before sitting up. The nurse stood up and wrapped the plastic thingy around my arm and pushed a button. It squeezed tightly around arm, as if it were trying to strangle it.
"Okay, breakfast is in a hour. If you'd like you can go back to bed or you can go to the lounge and set up." She smiled and left. Usually Kellin would follow after her to get his weight checked and I'd wait in the lounge then set up with him.
But this was different, he was in a hospital for those who were injured. He was probably fighting with a nurse on what he'd eat for breakfast as they tried to serve him cold and slimy foods.
I sighed and followed where the nurse had gone, straight to the lounge and got myself a glass of water. Ashely sat in the corner with a note book, I ignored him and started to set the tables and waited for the food to come to set them out. The best part about serving was you got to decide who sat where. I always sat alone with Kellin, now I just sat all alone.
I sat down on a couch and waited for the food, I was bored but I wasn't really ecstatic about writing anything. I watched as Ashely sat, hunched over and scribbling something very fast. Whether it was a drawing or a he was actually writing something I hadn't a clue as his hair covered most of the paper.
"What are you doing?" I called softly to him, he looked up at me and smiled, then got up and plopped down next to me, "Take a look yourself."
He showed me the paper, it had a poem written in it or was it a song?
The best things in life
Come with a price
The star that burned so bright faded the fastest
You'll always feel it's right
Even when we end the fight
Welcome home, home tonightSinging ohhh, ohhh
Welcome home tonight
Ohhh ohh, tonightWords they don't know how to make amends
And all they do is push you to the edge
But it's not wastedIt's all done for you
"Damn, did you write that for Andy?" He blushed, "Uh, what? Yeah of course, who else would it be for?" He smiled and stared lovingly at it, "I'm going to tell him I love him." I smiled, "That's awesome. Congratulations to you and your boyfriend." He opened his mouth to retort but at that moment the food trolley came and I just had to set out the breakfast cases.
I set it out like I normally did then sat down and opened my breakfast as the other patients sleepily filed in and stumbled to their seats. Most of them grabbed milk except Ryan and Brendon (cheers to those scarred ones who know why) who both grabbed juice and Ryan slightly shuddered as his fingers brushed the milk.
It was the same thing, I got up and grabbed oatmeal, I'd never had so I may as well try it. I grabbed a peanut butter packet and emptied it into the hot cereal.
It tasted like someone threw up oatmeal and then tried to mask the flavor with fake peanut butter. I pushed it away and grabbed the regular cold cereal and milk in disgust.
I ate in silence while everyone else laughed and joked together, why were they so happy? They were in a freakin hospital for a lot of fucked up things.
I wasn't really that angry Kellin and I would do that. But why couldn't I be part of it? I liked most of the people here, I'd seen them all before and gotten to know them actually pretty well, I just didn't feel like I fit it.
We all finished breakfast and sat down on the couches, it was time for check-in. I never got it that we checked-in in the morning, like I dunno how I feel, I just woke up.
After that we went back to our rooms until first group. I hoped that today Kellin would get out or that I could maybe see him.
A/n
Sorry that really sucked. Okay but this next one will be way better I hope. Don't hate me.
