Vic's POV

It'd been a few days since the first time I'd eaten snack with Kellin. It was now a regular thing for me to have at least one meal with him a day. Alex left and Jack was working hard to get out, as were we all were.

"Good news, Kellin can come back." Candace walked into my room, I was writing out song lyrics. "When?" I asked excitedly, "After lunch around school time." I was so happy he was finally healed up from the cuts enough to come back to this hospital.

"So, clean your shit up from his side of the cubby and get ready for school." I nodded and got up to move some of my clothes from his side of the cubbies. They weren't exactly cubbies in my opinion, just shelves.

We ate lunch and I told everyone that Kellin was coming back 'home', "Dude, Thad great. I really miss Alex but I'm getting better! I'll be out soon I swear." Jack smiled, I'd miss Jack when he left, he was my best friend for the times he was here.

After lunch I went to my room as we had s choice before school, I opened my lyric book and let my mind wander as I wrote nonsense in it, trying to think of a good concept.

"Fuentes, school." A person I'd never seen before peeked in my room and said my name wrong, "Who the hell are you?" I asked, not moving. "How dare you, I am the substitute teacher and I will have respect." I shrugged and followed her and the rest of the patients down the hall to our classroom.

"Alright," she looked around the room with an air of someone who thinks they can rule over everyone, "who amount you has things to do?" Half of us raised their hands including me because I was lying and I was just going to write lyrics, "Good, the rest of you, I'll get you some packs." She looked through the dressers to find packs which were just random shit with crossword puzzles and stupid easy questions.

I got out my notepad and pretended to think, which I was, but of lyrics not school.

Choke, tried to wash you down with something strong
Dry but the taste of blood remains
Cold, empty mattresses and falling stars
My, how they start to look the same

So keep in happiness
And torture me while I tell you
"Let's go in style"
A million hooks around
A million ways to die
Darling, it's cold outside

No, no more eyes to see the sun
You slide into bed while I get drunk
Slow conversations with a gun
Mean more than I've ever said to anyone, anyone

So keep in happiness
And torture me while I tell you
"Let's go in style"
A million hooks around
A million ways to die
Darling, let's go inside
It'll be alright

"Mr. Fuentes," she pronounced my name wrong again, "Please, call me Vic." I winked and everyone laughed, "Tell me, what are you doing?" I shrugged and leaned back in my chair, "Does it concern you?" She wrinkled her nose in distaste, "Yes, as I am your teachers."

"I'm writing lyrics."
"What about?"
"I don't know, just whatever comes to mind."
"Let me see," I didn't trust anyone looking at my writing besides Kellin and my band, "No, thank you. I like to keep my lyrics away from the public so they don't get stolen." Jack laughed from behind me.

She glared and made a grab for my lyric book but I was quicker and slid it away from her and under the desk with ease. "Too slow, but you'll get it next time I'm sure." She looked ruffled and spun on her heel and grabbed a pack and threw it in my general direction, I caught it.

"You know, teachers really shouldn't throw, it's a bad example for us students." Kellin walked in with s cane, I shot up from my seat and tackled him, we both fell on the floor, he groaned, "Vic, do you not see the cane? I'm an invalid." I rolled my eyes, "Why do you have that?" He sighed, "He's too weak at the moment and he's got osteoporosis." Kelly walked in beside and pulled him up but didn't offer me any help.

"Picking favorites?"
"Wouldn't dream of it, I'm Kellin's one-on-one." I groaned, "why does he have one?" Kellin rolled his eyes sassily, "Hullo? I 'self harmed' remember? That's why I went to St. Alphonse in the first place." I shrugged but knew that one-on-one would really suck.

"Alright, let's cut the reunion short and get back to work, we still have 15 minutes left." Kellin looked over at the teacher as I helped myself up, "Who the fuck even are you?" She looked extremely annoyed, "Your substitute, Miss Alans." Kellin shrugged and walked to a seat next to mine before Kelly called out, "You forgot your cane." She handed it to home and then sat at the desk behind him. She had to be an arms length away from him at all times.

"Mr. Quinn I presume, do you have work to do?" "Does it bother you if I don't?"
"Well, I am your teacher."
"Substitute Alans."
"Please don't just call me 'Alans'."
"Whatever."

Kellin was probably the sassiest person I knew, he never took shit and was quick with words. Alans threw him a pack and he caught it easily and threw it right back, "I told you not to throw, it really rubs off on us easily molded children."

I was going to die of laughter and it seemed like most of the class was right behind me with that. I'd missed Kellin so much.

"Mr. Quinn if you can't behave I'll have you sent to see a nurse."
"Haven't you got eyes? There's on right behind me." Kelly smirked but didn't say anything, "I'll send you to the principal."
"We're at a hospital, not s school. There's none."

We managed to make it through class with no actual trouble but it was close. "Kells we could've gotten is so much trouble." He laughed as we went to the lounge for group, "I knew what I was doing, besides, how much more trouble could I get in? I'm already level 1 and I've got a nurse."

We followed the crowd which was just five patients to the day room to wait for a nurse. I realized how little of us there was left, Ronnie had been transferred and Alex had left and Gerard had also been transferred.

"Okay, group time y'all."

I hated group but at least I had Kellin to help.
