Kagami found a quiet place on the side of the street where he could just lean against the wall and watch the people going by. He tried to see into people's minds as they walked by. It was a neat ability angels had, some of the elder angels could even see into other angels' minds. Kagami was not nearly that good at it, he hadn't even spent enough time around humans to get practice.
He did his best to focus and see into as many at once as he could, trying to see if any of them had a faint clue as to who Aomine Daiki was and where he might be. There were almost too many people, the amount of information flooding into his own mind was overwhelming. He tried to focus on one person at a time, but that took far too long and he wasn't able to get to everyone. His attempts at finding any glimmer of information was completely fruitless. No one seemed to know of the person he was looking for.
He walked along the street, still partially in people's thoughts, feeling for even a faint connection to the human. All seemed hopeless until he was walking by some kind of court. The people there were bouncing a ball around and taking turns throwing it in a raised up basket. He felt like he'd heard of the game before, it took some sifting through the players thoughts to get the name, Basketball. But what was more exciting was the faint glimmer of the name Aomine in one of the player's mind. The tall one with glasses and black hair falling in front of his face seemed to know Aomine.
Kagami decided on a direct approach instead of continuing probing his mind. He walked up to the basketball court, standing on the sidelines and watched them play. After a while, they stopped and laughed with each other as they went to benches nearby. Kagami walked up to them, "Imayoshi-san?" It was just another of many things he'd gleaned from being in the man's mind.
The guy with glasses looked up at him. His eyes seemed mostly closed and an odd smile was still plastered on his face, but from what Kagami could tell, his brows were furrowed. "And who might you be?"
"I'm looking for Aomine." Kagami couldn't say anything else, he couldn't tell this human why he was looking for Aomine. He certainly couldn't tell him that he was an angel either. He couldn't lie about it either, it wasn't in his or any angel's nature.
Imayoshi's eyebrows raised, "It's been years since I've heard that name. Why are you looking for him?"
Kagami was silent for a moment. He didn't know what he could say without lying or giving himself away, which would be equally bad. Humans were not to know of the existence of angels. Kagami did his best to say something that wasn't a total lie, "I have business with him. I was told he was here."
Imayoshi let out a laugh, "Then who ever told you that hadn't seen him in a while either. Last I heard, Aomine was going to live in the mountains or something. Done with this busy life, he said he was."
Kagami creased his brow, this human, Aomine, was quite elusive. He wondered what was so special about a human that wanted to dwell in the mountains. But he wasn't one to question his superiors, so he'd have to just find Aomine and have done with it. "What mountains did he go to?"
"You're not from around here, are you?" Imayoshi snickered, "There's only mountain of significance around here. Mount Fuji."
Kagami tilted his head to the side, wondering just how Imayoshi knew he wasn't from around here. He decided to not pay to much attention to the comment and just said, "Thank you for your help."
Imayoshi just shrugged, "Good luck."
Kagami nodded and walked away from the basketball court again. He needed to go to Mount Fuji, where exactly beyond that, he still had to figure out.
