"I would rather fall."

There was a moment of silence as Akashi just looked up at Kagami for a moment. Kagami held his gaze, he wouldn't waver in his decision. He wouldn't let them take Aomine, ever.

Akashi reached out, touching his fingertips to Kagami's chest. A burning sensation started in Kagami's chest under Akashi's fingers. He could hardly breathe, the pain completely radiating through his body. He looked down and there did seem to be some sort of fire gathering under Akashi's fingers, but the fire was coming from him, not Akashi. It was as if his fire was being extracted from him. He looked again at Akashi, unable to say anything because of all the pain.

Akashi's eyes were deadly. He narrowed his eyes, "Then you will fall." He pulled his hand away, holding the glowing red fire that had come from Kagami.

Kagami couldn't keep standing, he felt weak, like everything that was keeping him alive was just ripped out of his chest. Akashi stepped forward, using his other hand to tap Kagami's chest and push him back into the hole behind him.

"You are not suited to be an angel." Akashi's words were the last thing he heard as he began to fall. He had feared this his entire angelic life. He had been afraid that one misstep would bring him to this fate of falling from grace, falling from heaven. Now that he was actually falling, he felt free. Staying in heaven, being an angel, none of that mattered if they thought him falling in love with Aomine was wrong.

He looked up at the hole in the universe that he'd fallen through. He could see Riko, Kuroko, and Furihata standing behind Akashi. All of them looked so terrified. But Kagami only smiled and let himself completely relax. He didn't need to struggle, he didn't need to fight falling. They didn't understand that he was chained before, but now was free, he was happy, he could feel.

Kagami looked beyond the hole as it closed to see the starry sky. The galaxy was spread out before him. This view was far better than his favorite spot in heaven. The air was rushing in his ears, the sound it made was completely deafening. Everything was whizzing by as he fell faster and faster, hurtling towards earth. Stars turning into streaks of light, spiraling into splashes of color. There was a flash of blue light as he fell. It seemed to be traveling in the opposite direction, speeding away from Kagami and into the stars. Beautiful.

[A/N: what do you think? ^^ like his sensation of falling?]
