Fear of Falling (Complete)

Kagami stared at him for a moment, he didn't believe what he was hearing. Fallen angel? He was sure that when you fell, you died, but there was this man standing in front of him claiming to be a fallen angel. Kagami just looked back at Aomine, "You're... a fallen angel?"

"Yes, yes I am," Aomine almost laughed, he walked into the cave a little more and Kagami's head almost couldn't take it. Aomine sat down on a side of the cave, leaning against the wall, "The longer you stay around me, the less your head will hurt. Of course this also means that you would be becoming less and less pure."

"I'm supposed to take you back to Riko in heaven," Kagami said as he bit back his pain.

"Obviously, I'm not going to just go with you," Aomine smirked up at him.

Kagami just kept staring at him, "You're a fallen angel..."

Aomine let out a sigh, leaning his head back, "Yes, we've covered this."

"But you have no energy signature," Kagami narrowed his eyes at Aomine. He just wanted to make sense of what Aomine was.

Aomine shrugged, "That happens when you fall. You're not really an angel anymore but you're not fully human."

Kagami slowly sat down, he still didn't fully understand why he was sent to find this fallen angel. "Then why... why did they send me to find you?"

Aomine shrugged, "Because I'm a threat to the other angels' way of life. They've been looking for me for thousands of years, looking to kill me. But I'm still here."

"Thousands?" Kagami's eyes widened, many angels were centuries old, fewer were a thousand, but older than that? There were only a handful of angels with that kind of seniority. Kagami shook his head, "I wasn't sent here to kill you."

"Then someone else is going to be tasked with the dirty work now that you've found me." Aomine sat up a little more, "I don't want to die and I certainly won't just let them kill me."

Kagami looked down, "I don't want any angel to be a murderer."

Aomine smiled, leaning forward a little, "Then maybe we can help each other. I need your help to get something I want back."

Kagami looked up at Aomine, it was his duty as an angel to aid others, especially humans. He didn't know why exactly, but he knew that he wanted to help Aomine. "What do you want?"

"I want to be an angel again."
