Thirteen

Minato and his squad leave the next morning. Kushina has a few days before departing the Leaf so she's preparing with her squad. Eiji, Miski, and I are to be here for a few weeks until we can get a good teamwork structure. Shiso Sensei vs. Miski, Eiji and I.

"Both of you are Earth users, right? What if you two get them from below while I distract them," I suggest.

"I have a quicksand jutsu I can use," Eiji speaks up.

"I can manipulate the Earth at their feet into clay and trap them into the Earth in a hardened mold that drains their chakra," Miski offers a jutsu himself.

"Okay is there a range you all need Izuko Sensei at?" I question them.

"Fifteen yards is a good range for me," Eiji speaks first and Miski agrees.

"Okay let us get to work," I suggest they follow behind me until they're at a good range and I'll work on getting them closer.

With my eyes, I was able to get Sisho sensei long enough to trap him. So we tried different variations of attacks.

Miski suggests an underground attack, "you mean pull them underground?" I ask.

"No like travel underground and physically pull them underground. We might be able to get hostages that way," Miski suggests so we start working on ways to get Sisho trapped.

We train till sundown and our stomachs begin to growl to end for the day.

I invite them all for dinner, and both Miski and Eiji take me up on my offer. Kushina makes shrimp tempura and rice balls. After dinner, I head to bed early.

The next morning Sisho sensei lets us know we will be heading out on a mission today. Sisho sensei gives us an hour to return home to pack.

I met Kushina on the way out and informed her I was leaving on a supply-run mission.

She wishes me luck and tells me to be careful, "If you see Minato and his team tell them I said stay safe."

I promise her to do so and rush up to my room to grab my things. I grab a raincoat and extra shoes and seal them into a scroll. I grab two instant ramen scrolls and a full kettle set scroll and make my way out.

I joined Sisho Sensei by the gate first, Miski arrives ten minutes later with Eiji at his heels.

"Okay, you three we are headed to the Hidden Sound border. We will be supplying aid and needed supplies to camps," Sisho sensei explains.

He reveals eight crates, "How are we supposed to carry those?" Eiji questions.

I pull out four scrolls two in each scroll, I seal them away and hand each one a scroll, "We each carry two."

"Your seals come in handy a lot, Yuki. Thanks," Eiji says with a smile as he puts his scroll away.

It took two days for us to arrive at the first campsite, which was an underground shelter. I unseal the crates for them and after a full dinner, we head out as the moon rises.

Halfway to our destination, we are met up by a three-man squad who is to accompany us from then on since their area has been attacked by Sound ninjas.

I look at the leader of the squad, "You should know we are being tracked by five ninjas coming from the east," I point in the direction I sense the chakra.

"They probably want to cut us off at the canyon entrance. You three go on ahead and we'll circle them and get them from behind," Sisho sensei agrees and we speed up to get ahead.

We beat the Sound ninjas by a hair, it's the laughter of one that catches my attention. I freeze on the spot, "Yuki what's wrong? Come on!" Eiji responds is drowned out by my cousins screams.

Shiori. Kais words, 'we can't help her. We'll be killed too,'  that still haunts me.

I know that laugh, "Yuki no!" I look at Eiji and before he can grab me I turn back and flee.

"Yuki what are you doing here? Get moving!" The leader shouts as he blocks a kunai.

They're Mist ninjas they'll cover the field in mist to conceal themselves.

I use my eyes to slow time for them so they can watch me set them ablaze, "scorch style: Flaming lotus." I touch his chest and he is engulfed in a windstorm of flames and hot air. I do the same to his four companions and let them burn slowly.

Once they're dead I remove the time manipulation and time returns to normal, "you didn't have to torment them to death Yuki," Sisho sensei comments when I reunite with them at the top of the canyon.

"And they didn't have to torture my cousin to death. Yet here we are," I say as I walk past him.

"We should get moving," I make my way down the canyon before the others catch up.

"Yuki how did you know it was them?" Eiji asks after a while of us moving.

"He was laughing when he was killing her," I mutter after a while.

"Maybe now I'll stop hearing it," I respond after a while.
