47: When it Rains

Four days later the Uchiha clan is massacred, Kyoko was spared for she has been at my apartment while Itachi on purposely avoiding killing Saskue.

I leave Kyoko asleep in my bed after clocking her in a powerful Seal Barrier I teleport to where Itachi is, I need to know why he did this.

"I know you to well to know you wouldn't do," Itachi falls to his knees as he begins to weep.

He tells me everything and I hug him, "you guys should have told me," I hold onto him as my own expectations of life break.

"You need to take Kyoko out of here, NO ONE can know about it, especially Danzo." I nod and he tells me to destroy the transformed clone in the Akatsuki.

"Itachi-" he stops me, "no I need a place so you need to get rid of your clone so I can have a spot."

I look at him and he shakes his head, "I'll protect the Leaf from the outside, you can protect it from the inside." I stare at him as he stands up, emotions aside.

"Wait Itachi, you can't just go like this?" He looks at me.

"This is the best way to protect the village," I stare at a man I don't recognize.

"You're clan is dead, take a moment Itachi," he shakes his head and tells me this isn't a time to feel, they'll see him as the enemy now and it's up to him to decide what he's going to do now.

"I have to speak to the Hokage, take Kyoko out of the Leaf," I nod and he disappears.

"Oh Itachi the pain you must be in," I mutter at the spot he was standing in moments before.

I pause for a second before I return to the Leaf, gather the few things Kyoko has left of her mother and clan and seal them away in scrolls.

I was leaving the Uchiha estate when I hear a scream, "Kyoko." I teleport to her.

She turns back to look at me, I stare at her tear full face, her eyes were red, and I can clearly see the Sharigan, "Yuki my home is a mess, and why is everyone gone?  Where's my mom?" I walk up to her and hug her.

"Something bad happened here last night, I'm sorry Kyoko, some bad people came to hurt the Leaf and the Uchiha clan was killed in the process, they we're trying to protect the Leaf, I'm so sorry Kyoko," I pick her up and knock her out, I don't want her to see more than she already has.

I look at the Uchiha estate, it's so silent, it reminds me of Uzushiogakure. I take her to the one place I know she'll be safe.

I walk up to the small house half way up the street Aoi pauses, surprised to see me, she smiles at me, "it's nice to see you Yuki." I nod.

"I need your help," Aoi, my father's girlfriend nods and walks me in. I hold a sleeping Kyoko in my arms. Aoi clears the sofa and puts a cushion on one side.

"Lay her down, I'll get a blanket," I nod and lay Kyoko down. I sit across from her as Aoi rushes back in and covers Kyoko. When Aoi was 22 she got pregnant and gave birth to a girl, the baby came early and died from health complications. My dad told me it took her a long time to move forward, I think she protects and cares so much because of her loss. I'm not proud of this but I'm going to use that to keep her safe. I'm sorry.

"Her name is Kyoko Uchiha, her clan was massacred last night and she can't stay in the Leaf or they'll kill her too. I need to keep her safe, she's Shisui's baby sister. Shisui is dead, so is her mother, she's alone, I need to keep her safe," Aoi nods as she understands what I'm asking.

"We'll set up your old room for her, go clear out your things, leave stuff that and right grow into, so she can have clothes until we take her shopping," I thank her.
