22: Pieces of a Puzzle

I rummage through the ninjas' childhood until the day where his Kage gives his orders about attacking the Uzushiogakure Village.

I watch as the Kage gives them encouraging speeches about how teaming up with the other Hidden Villages to attack and massacre the Uzumaki clan was benefical to them and they're success if war was to break out.

I watch as he and his team arrive at the Uzushiogakure, they quickly take down the Uzumaki on patrol duty, ever since war was threaten, my village was in high alert. I remember leaving the house after the Earth shook so bad the windows in our house broke. I was terrified of being alone at home after that I ran out to look for my parents.

Kanji Uzumaki the owner of the local candy shop saw me running in the street and pulled me into his shop to keep me safe, little did he know it was going to crumble like paper on top of us.

I watch as his teams throw paper bombs into houses and stores, and take down any red haired person they come across, not caring if it's a woman or a child. They kill everyone.

I watch as my clan members put up a fight, but eight against one doesn't leave good odds for the defender.

He personally kills my aunt and her three kids who she tries to shield. I stare at all the dead bodies as I follow the mist ninja to the mass graves. I watch as they burn Uzumaki's alive. I scream for them to stop, forgetting this is just a memory.

I couldn't take watching my clan die but I couldn't stop it from happening, it just kept going. That was until he rendezvous with his team and they celebrate a job well done.

Anger filled me, that's what the death of my clan got him a high five and 'a drink on me?' What is wrong with these people? How can they be so okay with murdering so disregardedly?

I watch till the present time and k slip out of his memories,

"Yuki!" Minato was yelling at me to snap out of it.

"Scorch Style: Extreme Heat," he screams as his body overheats and mummifies. The King of Death takes his soul as I remove my chakra chains.

"Yuki! What happened to you?" Minato rushes in front of me.

I look at him, "he was there that day. He helped murder my clan. I recognized his voice. He had called me 'it' before chasing me down the street. He killed my aunt and her kids, they were younger than me. They burned people alive just so they could hurry back home and drink. 'Cause they were tired, their Kage gave a damn speech about how killing my clan could benefit them in the up coming war, as if my clan was a disturbance in their victory!" I step away from him.

Minato looks at me, "Yuki-" I cut him off, "they had no regards for the innocent and killed everyone they couls just to get what they want." I splat angry.

"We're not killing innocent people, we're protecting innocent people. If they get past us it's our village they'll attack. We are fighting against other ninjas who know what it means to pick up a kunai and learn a Jutsu. No one here is a civilian who got caught in the crossfire." Minato looks at me and I nod, I already know that."

"We have to get going." He turns and they start walking I follow at the back.

Eiji hangs back only to stop and turn to face me, "Yuki."

I look past him, "Yuki." He calls me, sternly this time so I look at him.

"Are you alright?" I wanted to cry.

"It's like I lived that day all over again." I mutter as the screams fill my head.

"Yuki-" I cut him off and stop home from hugging me.

"No, this isn't the time for that." I walk past him and I catch up to the team.

"We'll stop here for the night." Minato sets up Kunai's around the camp, after an hour of fretful sleep I get up and walk away from the camp, I climb a tree and I stare at the moon. "Go away Eiji."

"No, I want to make sure you're okay." I hug my knees.

"My entire clan is dead, and  for the second time on my life I just watched them die." He sits down next to me.

"Eiji, I don't know how to make it stop replaying." I whisper after a while of silence.
