2 more days had passed. Lauren didn't receive a folded paper in her locker since Tuesday and she had to admit: she was anxious and couldn't wait for the next one. She was so looking forward to it, that every time Lauren noticed she had time to spare - even if just 30 seconds -, she would use that time to go to her locker.

After 2 painful days of this pace, she gave up. 'The best things come when you least expect', she thought. Maybe if she didn't think about how much she wanted a new note, she would have one in her locker soon.

This day was taking too long for Lauren's taste and she was getting impatient to get out of that classroom. She just started a new book and the last chapter ended with a cliffhanger. All she wanted to do was get out of that classroom so she could go somewhere and read before going home.

Luckily, the teacher dismissed the students almost half an hour later and Lauren was quick to go to her locker, not because she wanted to have a note there but to avoid the mass of students - or at least it was what she was trying to make herself think.

After putting the right combination, the metal door of her locker opened. To her dismay, there was nothing inside except for some of her school material.

Lauren grabbed the books she would need to do some homework and headed to her car. When she entered it, she just sat there contemplating her day. She didn't mind the boring classes or the loneliness, but the notes the stranger had been leaving in her locker always cheered her up and not having one was capable of turning her day in a bad one.

Maybe next day.

Lauren woke up on that Friday morning feeling rejuvenated. Before falling asleep, she made a promise to herself to not let the non-existing note in her letter affect her mood in a bad way. She couldn't afford to, she had so many other things in her life to do that.

So, as she walked in through the school main doors and made her way to her locker, she tried to convince herself that it was okay to not have a new folded paper in her locker waiting for her. She was almost convinced when she opened her locker door and a white folded paper was in it.

Lauren had to control herself to not jump and squeal and, luckily, she was able too - barely, but she was. She took a few deep breaths and unfolded the paper.

In a world of ants,
you are a tiger.
Yeah, you're that much better
than everyone else.

Lauren's cheeks turned into a tint of red. She had to hide her face inside the locker so no one would see how flattered and embarrassed she was. This was too cute. Whoever the person who was behind the notes was, sure knew how to get to Lauren's heart.
