~Trigger warning for abuse~
The girls stayed in their embrace, comforting each other mutually. Lauren felt calmer but didn't let Camila go anyway and, instead, she let her back rest against the headboard dragging Camila along with her.
"I can't believe your dad actually did that.", Lauren said, unconsciously tightening her grip on Camila.
"Me neither... But that was not all that he did."
"What?!", Lauren snapped, pulling the girl away to look at her, trying to see if she was serious or not about this. She couldn't be.
"Yeah, this was just the first day... It all continue once he was... Done."
~ Flashback on ~
Camila felt her knees weak and almost fell on the floor while her dad adjusted his hospital gown. She just wanted to run out of there but the man had locked the door and was blocking it with his body.
"Why did you do this?", Camila asked softly, not having the energy to talk any louder. She was trying to control the urge she had to cry but knew that she shouldn't seem so weak at this moment.
"I'm going to teach you how to be normal, kid, you'll see."
Camila felt a built of anger rising inside of her, she approached her dad and crossed her arms over her chest. "Do you realize that I could just go out there and tell everyone what you just did, right? You can't do nothing about it, you're stuck in here!"
The man seemed not to be affected by his daughter's tone and didn't even flinch, instead, he just smiled at her and reach out for her arm, grabbing it with a certain pressure to then unlock the door and dragged her back to the room. Once they reached it, the man stopped by his wife's bed. He approached the big machine at the side of the bed and pointed to the several wires that connected the woman to it, to life. "You tell anyone and one of this wires is going to be out in a snap, then your precious mother would never ever be back to you." Camila's eyes widened. This couldn't be possible, her dad couldn't be doing this. "Do you understand?", he asked roughly.
Camila could only nod in response. She was so scared and so angry at the same time. Her parents were married for 20 years, how could her dad just threaten to kill his spouse like that?
They end up back on her father's side of the room, the man talking like what just happened didn't happen at all. Camila just wanted to go home and be with Lauren but every time she made a move to leave her dad threatened her to turn off her wife's machine if she didn't stay until he said she could leave.
When the nurse finally came with his dinner and pills, she was finally able to go home, to her girlfriend, who would for sure make her feel better.
Once she got home and saw Lauren, Camila wanted nothing more than to share her horrible experience with her and cry while Lauren held her, but she couldn't, she would have to keep her mouth shut.
Lying to Lauren was one of the worst things that Camila ever did, she felt her heart clench at every lie that came out of her own mouth and mentally apologize to the girl after, but it was for her mother's sake. When she was finally involved in her girlfriend's arms, she felt at peace for a little while and made sure to try and keep her best façade like everything was alright, like she just didn't want to cry her eyes out and kill her own father.
~ Flashback off ~
"You should have told me, he would never know and I could have done something, like kill him myself.", Lauren said trying to sound calm but failing miserably when her voice came out full of anger. How could a man treat Camila like that? How could her own father treat her daughter like that? How could someone hurt Camila on purpose?
