The funeral on the next day was not as bad as Camila thought it would be. Although she was not very fond of her uncle and aunt, Camila felt sad for having lost them. The way they died was a shock to the whole family and, although she didn't hear it specifically, Camila knew that people were blaming her parents for it because they survived and her uncles didn't. But Camila couldn't do much about it, the right decision was to let them speak and think whatever they wanted, Camila never gave a shit about what people said about her or her close relatives anyway.

She was surprised with Hannah and so glad that the child had gone with them. She behaved the whole time and even comforted Camila by holding her hand when she saw her crying.

Lauren was by her side the whole time as well. The funeral was boring as hell, but Lauren sensed that Camila was needing her by her side, so she stayed in her place next to her during the whole ceremony, comforting her when things got too sad or overwhelming.

When the funeral ended, they drove back home and stopped at a supermarket on the way to buy some soup for lunch. Once at home, they ate and got ready to go - Hannah to school and Lauren and Camila to the hospital.

The afternoon and the rest of the week were spent like Monday morning, with Camila beside her parents and Lauren in the waiting room. Occasionally, she joined her girlfriend or would do some errands on her own, because spending long hours in an uncomfortable plastic chair in that depressing waiting room was not very appealing.

Camila stayed the whole week at Lauren's house, by Lauren's dad request. There was no point in going to an empty house when she had a perfect place to stay. Both Lauren and Camila liked the idea, obviously, since they would be sleeping together. By the end of the week, Lauren's dad seemed to think it would be a good idea that the two girls went back to school because a coma could last a few days or a couple of years and the girls wouldn't stay at home without going to school until then, at least not his daughter. Much to their surprise, Camila agreed immediately with Lauren's dad point of view and she knew that there was nothing she could do for her parents to 'come back'. Also, a new distraction was really welcomed.

Lauren woke up feeling tired that morning - or what she thought to be a morning-, she felt that she hadn't slept at all or that she had run a marathon during the night. She also woke up alone in bed, which was a first ever since Camila slept there. Normally, Camila was never up before Lauren and, finding her phone in the dark and checking the time, Lauren realized it was still too early for the girl to be getting ready for school - it was 2 in the morning. Groggily, Lauren turned on the bedside lamp and got out of bed. As soon as she opened the door, faint voices were heard coming from downstairs but Lauren realized that it was just the TV even before she begun to descend the stairs that led to the bottom floor.

"Camila?", Lauren called as soon as she entered the living room and saw the said girl sitting on the couch, with a mug in hands and watching something on the TV.

Camila jumped on her seat, almost spilling the liquid that was inside the mug on the couch. Luckily, the mug was almost empty. "H-hey, you scared me!".

Lauren laughed softly and sat next to her girlfriend on the couch. "What are you doing here so late?"

"I couldn't sleep."

"What thoughts took away your sleepiness? You were pretty tired a few hours ago."

"I don't really know.", Camila said, resting her head on Lauren's shoulder. "My mind just woke up out of the blue and I couldn't sleep, so I came here."

"Next time, wake me up.", Lauren kissed Camila's head and the girl just nodded against her shoulder. "Now, get your ass upstairs and let's go to sleep, we have school in a few hours, my lady."
