~Trigger warning for abuse~
Camila haven't slept that good in weeks, ever since her dad 'came back to life'. Ever since that exact day, her nights are spent either awake or having nightmares, the latter more usual than the first. But not that night, that night where she slept in the arms of her loved one, that night where she did nothing else but to dream. To add to it, she woke up feeling light kisses on her neck. At first, Camila panicked because she still hadn't process that it was a new day and that the person kissing her neck was not her dad but yes, Lauren. After that realization, she relaxed and enjoyed while keeping her eyelids closed.
"I know you're awake.", Lauren mumbled against her neck, biting the spot right after.
"Yeah...", was what Camila could answer.
"How did you sleep?"
"Pretty good, but I liked how I woke up even more", Camila said with a smirk, grabbing Lauren's nape and guide her until they were face to face so that they could share the first kiss of the day.
Lauren pursed her lips and Camila looked at her in confusion, which led to Lauren kiss Camila's forehead and say, "Not before I brush my teeth though."
Camila got up from the bed as fast as a cheetah and went to the bathroom. Lauren heard the sound of water running and laughed, but decided to follow the same path - she really wanted to kiss Camila.
When they finished brushing their teeth and wiping their mouths, Lauren gave Camila no time to think when she spun her around and pinned her against the marble washbasin. Camila gave her a smile followed by a smirk and Lauren almost shed a tear. She really had missed Camila. She tucked a few loose strands of Camila's hair behind her ear and caressed her cheek smoothly. God, how she missed that. Lauren still couldn't believe that Camila was there once again, with her, and that Camila was safe. "I can't believe I was without you at some point in my life, you are literally the most amazing thing in this universe."
Camila smiled bashfully at the girl in front of her. "I could say the same. I'm so glad to have you with me."
They stared at each other lovingly, just taking in each other's profile. Lauren was just plain staring and Camila was just plain staring back, that was how they worked: two little creeps staring at each other.
"Well, I brushed my teeth already, now here's my kiss?", Camila asked, pulling Lauren closer by her waist who had to support herself on the washbasin as well from the unexpected pull.
Lauren laughed at Camila's playfulness and leaned in, too slowly for Camila's taste. Their noses brushed causing Camila to giggle and to then close the distance between them. Yap, she really liked to kiss Lauren. It was like eating cotton candy with an extra dose of sugar, so sweet and soft. Which began in a couple of innocent little kisses, turned into Lauren being pinning Camila to the bathroom wall. Camila was definitely liking where this was going but when Lauren raised Camila's hands above her head, Camila opened her eyes and entered in a state of shock.
The pressure on her wrists was exactly the same as her dad's and she couldn't see Lauren's beautiful form kissing her: she was seeing her dad. The thick hands blocking her moves making Camila feel trapped, she couldn't. In a jolt, Camila freed herself from Lauren by pushing the girl aside, making her fall on the floor, and ran out of the bathroom to their bedroom, closing the door behind her.
Lauren was sat on the floor bewildered, did she do anything wrong? Was she rushing things again? Well, sitting on the bathroom floor wouldn't give her any answers so she got up and headed to her bedroom. She had heard Camila locking the door but turned the knob just to check - it was, indeed, locked -, and she knocked.
"Camila? Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?", no answer, "Camila? I'm sorry... Please talk to me.". Lauren still had no answer from the other side of the door.
With tears threatening to fall, Lauren went to her dad's office and grabbed a pen and a piece of paper. She made her way to her bedroom once again and sat on the floor, with her back against the door, and wrote on the paper:
Talk to me, please
Lauren folded the paper and slipped in under the door. She heard footsteps getting closer coming from the bedroom, which meant that Camila was walking in the door's direction. Lauren heard the paper being unfolded and, seconds later, the door being unlocked but Camila didn't open it, so Lauren got up and knocked. "Can I come in?", she asked. She heard a faint 'yes' and slowly turned the knob finding Camila sat at the end of the bed. As Lauren was approaching, she noticed how Camila tensed at the closeness and how she was backing away slightly. "Hey, it's just me. Did I do something wrong?", she asked again, which Camila answered by shaking her head. "What's wrong then?".
Camila brought her knees to her chest and involved her legs with her arms, resting her forehead on them. "It's him, I saw him."
"Him?", no answer, "Your dad?", Camila nodded.
Lauren took a few seconds to understand but when it clicked, she was shocked. Camila was traumatized by her dad's abuses and Lauren didn't even think that that was a possibility, instead, she let herself be driven by her desires and didn't think about Camila's feelings or necessities. She slowly sat next to Camila, mimicking the girl's position. "I'm sorry."
"You don't have to apologize, it's his fault.", Camila said, turning her head to the side to look at Lauren. When she saw she wouldn't have a glance back, she placed a hand on the girl's arm to get her attention, which turned out successful because Lauren turned her head to Camila.
It was only then that Lauren noticed Camila's red and puffy eyes and that Camila noticed a couple of tears running down Lauren's cheek. The sigh broke Lauren's heart, seeing Camila in such a bad place because of that disgusting man, but warmed up Camila's. Lauren was crying because of her, because she understood the pain in which Camila was and because Camila was in pain.
Camila decided to just hug the girl that she was madly in love with. Lauren clung so tight to her that Camila lost it completely, she started sobbing like hell and felt Lauren's warm tears on her shoulder. God, they were a mess.
"He's not going to hurt you anymore, I will make sure of that.", Lauren whispered.

After lunch, the girls received a call from Agent Parker who told them to show up at the police station due to them having news about the case.
Once Lauren shut off the engine of her car on the police station's parking lot, she turned to her side to watch Camila still in place, playing nervously with the seat's fabric. "Are you okay?", she asked.
"Just nervous", Camila answered giving her a small smile.
"Are you ready?"
"As long as you're there with me.", Camila said, leaning in to kiss Lauren's cheek and get out of the car.

A/N: Rough day, Pride party, just got home, too many drinks, at least I had the chapter almost done since last night, I'm sorry for any mistakes.
Quick question: what's your go-to drink? Cuz beer smells and tastes like someone just threw up in my cup and I can't even smell sangria anymore, I'm so done with it.
Today's song is Message Man by Twenty-One Pilots, man, they're good.
Have a good day or night or afternoon or evening or dawn, idk.
