It was December 31. Lauren and Danielle were shopping for food for the party that Toby was giving that night, while Toby himself and Camila were in charge of the decorations.

"So, any midnight resolutions yet?", Lauren asked as they grabbed a couple bags of chips and put it in their cart.

"Yeah, don't get pregnant!", Danielle answered.

Lauren laughed and looked at Danielle who was giving her a 'why are you laughing?' look. "Oh, you're serious?".

"Of course! You lesbos are lucky as fuck, you don't have to worry about this shit."

Lauren laughed at how serious Danielle was being about this, but her eyes widened when she noticed what Danielle had said. Lesbos kept replaying in her head. Not that the term was affecting her, it was the fact that she never told Danielle that she was a lesbian. Why? Because Camila asked her not to, she asked specifically not to tell Danielle nor Toby because Camila claimed not to be ready for it. Lauren understood and it was totally okay with it, so she never said anything. But Danielle knew, somehow.

"Damn girl, it looked like you just saw a ghost?", Lauren heard Danielle say and felt her playfully hitting her arm.

"How did you...?".

"...Know that you're gay as fuck?" Lauren pursed her lips and gave an annoyed look at Danielle. "First of all, my gaydar is strong as shit. And second, you and Camila are not that subtle."

"What do you mean with 'not that subtle'?", Lauren asked, she was really thinking that she was able to keep it to herself.

"Toby and I knew since the day we met you, you kept staring at Camila all smiley diley the whole time and you check her out every time she passes in front of you.", Danielle explained, raising an eyebrow at Lauren to express how obvious both girls were. Lauren just smiled shyly at the inside of the shopping cart. "Is it official or...?".

Lauren chuckled, "Yeah..."

"For how long?".

"1 month and 22 days.", Lauren answered happily.

Danielle laughed at how adoringly Lauren was being and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Why didn't you guys tell us?".

"To be honest, Camila didn't want to, she said she was not ready for that."

Danielle scrunched her nose at that. "I doubt that's only that, though." After that, Danielle explained how she and Toby thought that Camila was simply scared of telling them in fear of not having their approval, so they had tried to approach the subject smoothly to give the girl some clues that it was fine by them, and told Lauren that their first impression that Camila was scared of their reaction was when Lauren placed her hand on top of Camila's on the cafe and Camila took her hand out of it, which happened on the several cafe meeting that they had after that also.

Lauren understood in that moment the real reason why Camila didn't want to be open to Toby and Danielle about their relationship, and she was going to talk to Camila about it the next time she had a chance.

That next time was when they were getting ready for Toby's New Year Party. Both Lauren and Camila were pretty nervous about it because it would be their first party ever and they wanted everything to be perfect. They were not specifically worried about the heavy party environment that most high school parties had, simply because that was not a high school party. The people attending there were a little more... mature, even though Lauren knew that it would be hectic nonetheless. They decided to walk to Toby's house since the guy lived nearly at the end of the street, and Lauren was kind of excited about it because then they could drink since none of them had to drive.
