The glory of Spring
The smells and colors
Bring me such simple pleasureWafting through my home
The scent of sun-kissed lilac
Transports me to unending blissGazing at the pink radiance
Of the crabapple tree at my front door
Stuns me with intensity of the colorThe yellow and pink tulips
In their fleeting glory
Reward my eyes with joyBleeding hearts and jack-in-the pulpit
Add their touches in the
Collage of nature's painting on my yardSoon the heavy blossoms of peonies
Will grace the environment with
Countless petals of fuchsiaWhat a wonderful month of May
I fall in love with my yard again
As each year brings forth SpringInhaling in the intoxicating
Sweetness pausing to give thanks
And exhaling as I feel myself at peace
