Spring in my Yard

The glory of Spring
The smells and colors
Bring me such simple pleasure

Wafting through my home
The scent of sun-kissed lilac
Transports me to unending bliss

Gazing at the pink radiance
Of the crabapple tree at my front door
Stuns me with intensity of the color

The yellow and pink tulips
In their fleeting glory
Reward my eyes with joy

Bleeding hearts and jack-in-the pulpit
Add their touches in the
Collage of nature's painting on my yard

Soon the heavy blossoms of peonies
Will grace the environment with
Countless petals of fuchsia

What a wonderful month of May
I fall in love with my yard again
As each year brings forth Spring

Inhaling in the intoxicating
Sweetness pausing to give thanks
And exhaling as I feel myself at peace
