Chilly winter afternoon
Seeking refuge
Two woodpeckers
Came to visit
My mini bird sanctuary
Suet and birdseed
And whatever edible lives in the bark
Of a crabapple tree
Drew these two beautiful
Woodpeckers to my yard
After they had a snack
They each found a crook
In the snow-covered branches
And hunkered down
Nestled within their feathers
Unaware of each other and me
I was fortunate
To take some photographs
That helped me capture
This moment to share
