Hide and Seek

I openly stared down Sebastian and shook my head, shaking me out of my stunned state. He chuckled, causing Ciel to look between us in confusion, probably assuming he was missing something.

"Young master, I have your tea and I'm ready to discuss the plans for tonight. I've also finished my work in the garden," I walked forward and set the tray down on the table, removing the cup and small plate, setting it down gently in front of Ciel.

"Very well. First things first, I want my tea before we start," his eye flicked to the tea pot filled with hot water.

"Of course, allow me," Sebastian stepped away from Ciel and stepped behind me, pushing up against my back. His arms reached out from around me and started making the tea. I didn't dare move in case I caused him to mess up, but I was uncomfortable with the situation.

He totally could've walked around me to do this...

Ciel rolled his eyes, "Sebastian, honestly, what are you doing? She's perfectly capable of doing it herself."

"Terribly sorry young master," Sebastian chuckled with a closed eyed smile, "I'm just so used to doing it myself and it was easier to reach around her than to move her aside."

Ciel just rolled his eyes and make a scoffing noise, "Of course, and it's not because you're a creep who can't control himself."

"Your words sting, young master, is that truly what you think of me?" Sebastian frowned but from one look at him, I knew it wasn't a real frown or real hurt.

"What do you expect? Ugh, honestly, just hurry it along, we have plans to make." Ciel dropped his head into his hand which was propped by his elbow against his desk.

I walked around, moving Sebastian's arm out of my way first, and sat down in the seat across from Ciel, crossing my legs and flattening out the skirt of my dress, "So, what's our move, m'lord?"

Ciel lifted his head and let his blue eye bore into my ruby ones, a hidden sadness in both our eyes.

"Well, first things first, you will not be dressed as a maid or a peasant. You can wear one of the dresses in the closest of your room, it should be fine at attracting the vile mans attention. Second, we will bring you close to where the majority of these kidnappings happen and then we will leave you and go to a different location. You will walk through the alleys doing whatever you feel will work, and once he comes for you, if he does, you are to let him take you. We will follow after you and hopefully learn where he's keeping all the children, is that understood? If you can, find out who is responsible for the girls going missing. And make sure you find where this person is keeping the girls. You will be saved, worry not, but we need the information."

The whole time Ciel spoke he seemed bored, like it all meant nothing to him. And it didn't, I knew that. He wanted to do his job and nothing else. He didn't care about what happened to me or the children really, so long as his job was done right. And if the children were already dead I'm sure he would be fine with that as well.

"Yes young master, I understand. Should I resist at all to make it believable or let him take me and risk him thinking it's a trap?" I went over both scenarios in my head and neither of them were very appealing, both could end horribly.

"Decide that on the spot, I'm sure you'll make the right choice, and if not..." Ciel sighed, "I guess you'll just be like the rest of our useless servants around here."

Ouch. I bit my tongue, I'd always been very vocal about how I felt about things but Ciel was my master and I knew talking back to him was completely unacceptable. I knew I was at least ten times more capable of any task than the rest of his servants! Finny never finished his work, Bard didn't even start his and when he did he burned it, and Mey-Rin made more of a mess than she cleaned! I wasn't perfect but I tried to be the closest that I could. I stayed silent until Sebastian spoke up.
