Nadia
I was standing by my locker when Marcus had come and greeted me. He was playing his cards right as he did know how to make me laugh.
"What you doing tonight?" Marcus asked taking me by surprise.
"Nothing, what's up?" I replied trying to act oblivious.
"You want to go out to dinner?" He asks trying to be swift as he leans on the locker. I looked in the distance and saw Steph pass something to Caleb whilst he watched her walk away.
He looked at her with so much lust in his eyes. Caleb would never look at me like that and I wondered why it bothered me so much.
"Yeah sounds good to me," I smile.
"Text me your address and I'll pick you up at seven if that's okay with you?" He says and I see Pamela in the distance.
"Yeah I'll catch you later then," I say running to Pamela. She catches a glimpse of me and tries to walk away but I wasn't having it and followed her into the girls toilets.
"Leave me alone," she mutters. I could tell she was hurt. I knew it. I knew she had caught feelings for Devonte.
"I'm sorry Pam, what I did was wrong. When I found out I wanted to tell you but I thought that something like that should come from them," I explained and she scoffed.
"Cut the bullshit Nadia!" Pamela says. I knew this would be extra hard to get through to Pamela she was always the stronger one and had her defences up.
"My best friends lied to me, I was screwing the guy she loves and you both didn't say anything!" She yelled making a few people walk out of the toilets as soon as they walked in."Pamela look I wanted it to come from them, and you have to answer me this seriously... do you have any feelings for Devonte? Was it all really just a casual thing between you," I asked dreading the answer.
"No I don't have any feelings for him," she replies sternly and I actually believed her. "But you don't get to ask me that question...."
"I'm truly sorry," I say before leaving the toilet hoping she would forgive me.
"I wish you guys could've just trusted in our friendship," Pamela cries.
"I do, we both do, you are my best friend and yes I should've just told you, you would've done the same for me,"
"I know you were put in a difficult situation, so I can't fully blame you,"
"It'd mean a lot if you could come to mine tonight.... please, we need to talk things through," I told her hoping she would want to build our friendship again.
At the end of the day Devonte, Debbie, Marcel, Trey and Caleb were at the parking lot.
"Ugh Caleb! I didn't know you smoked...." I say in disgust as he dragged the cigarette from his mouth.
"There's a lot of things you don't know about me, babygirl," he winks and I groan.
"Well you obviously don't know so much about me because as long as we're friends I look out for you and that includes your health mr big man," I challenged grabbing the cigarette from his hand.
"Hey Nadia! Listen I don't smoke on a regular basis.... I just do it when I'm stressed," he says and the other boys laugh.
"And what exactly is stressing you out?" I asked. Generally the only thing that should be stressing us teenagers out would be exams but frankly there was so much other shit going on.
"We call her Miss Stephanie Sanchez!" Trey says not looking the slightest impressed.
"What you going on a date with her or something?" I asked shocked.
"No she just gave him her address, look I don't really like the girl but I mean if she's wants to put out...." Devonte never got to finish the sentence before Debbie smacked his chest hard. Those two... well a blind man could see that they were still in love with each other.
"Is that all she wants? I mean if she's willing to sleep with you, have you thought maybe she might have feelings for you...." I began. I don't know why but the idea of Caleb and Sanchez going on a date really irked me.
"If she wanted to date me she would've told me to go out for dinner," he stated and he did have a point. Is that what Marcus wanted?
"Speaking of dates.... Nadia has one tonight," Debbie chirped and the boys looked all happy all except from one. Caleb. I thought he would be happy for me but instead he was sulking. He took out another cigarette and lit it up in silence.
"Who's the lucky guy Nads?" Devonte asked me and I knew for a fact that the guys would not be pleased.
"Marcus Terrence," I say confidently.
Marcel and Trey grunted.
Whilst Devonte commented "he's wack".
Caleb just stood there leaning on his car taking another drag of his cigarette.
"What's your problem?" I ask Caleb feeling a strong sense of hostility. He looked at me unfazed.
"Nothing just thinking about how I'm going to give Stephanie a night to remember," he grins whilst looking me in the eye. I don't know what he was trying to do but I wasn't going to let it get the better of me.
Tonight the only guy on my mind would be Marcus.
