NadiaIt couldn't be. I could see the same facial expression on my face placed on Caleb's. The blood drained from my body.
How could he? How could he betray me like this?
"What's going on?" I ask calmly well as calm as I could be in this situation.
"I'm in love with this girl and she denied me for a piece of shit," Marcus chuckles and I just screw up my face whilst Caleb clenches his jaw in anger.
"So what you teamed up with him?" I inquired referring to my father.
"I could've loved you...."
"If you say anything else to my girl, I won't be held responsible for my actions," I had never seen Caleb so protective before he was normally one to let me handle myself but I guessed desperate times called for desperate measures.
"I don't think that's the best threat seen as I have the whole of the herd behind me," he replies as he looks behind to the people I'm guessing Caleb once knew.
"Yeah those people behind you, were my family once so... if they want to try me they know it's not going to be pretty," I had never seen Caleb fight but frankly I prefer not to see my boyfriend throwing punches or on the other hand receiving any.
"They don't have an alliance with you anymore Caleb, they have no loyalties to you," Anthony explained. He didn't deserve the title Father anymore.
"So what's the plan? You're going to get my old mates to rough me up or worse kill me?" Caleb asks with a hint of humour. Caleb really did have a death wish at this moment.
"Let me tell you something Marcus, you son of a bitch, I may not be the best guy in the world but you are something else... you say you love her but yet you have a gun targeted at her, did spending time with him make you go insane!" Caleb yelled pointing at Anthony.
Okay, well if he didn't have a death wish before, he certainly had one now.
"I'm going to enjoy killing you Daniels," Marcus spat with a smile plastered over his horrid face. How did I ever go out with that?
I couldn't let Marcus kill Caleb. Whatever it took I would save him.
"Kill him Marcus and any chance of resolving this will be over! If you let us go now, I may be willing to forgive and forget," I tell him sternly. Surely if the guy cared about me he would be willing to let the man I love go. Or was that just me being irrational and having too much faith in human kind?
"Babe sadly it's not up to me," he says pointing the gun towards Caleb.
All of a sudden, certain guys from the herd started pointing their guns towards Marcus and my father.
In the midst of it all, I catch a glimpse of familiar faces. Standing amongst the group of guys who were supposedly there for Marcus and my father's back up were Marcel, Devonte and Trey. How did they get there?
"You should really have documents that show you whose left the herd, we wouldn't want any complications, now would we?" Devonte questioned whilst grinning.
"Marcus you had one job!" My father bellows whilst having a gun pointed towards Marcel and Marcel back at him.
"I'm new! How was I supposed to know?" I shake my head in disgust.
Caleb grabs my hand and whispers "we're going to be alright".
Soon after sirens were heard and when members from the herd including Marcus and my father tried to escape, Devonte warned them that he would pull the trigger.
So they stood there until Officer Blake and her police squad, came and dragged them away.
"I will always love you Nadia!" Marcus yells as he is being dragged away.
"Please give me the permission to hurt that guy," Caleb says with a slight bit of humour hinted.
"Don't worry, the bad guys are gone now," I say as we embrace each other in a hug. It felt so good to be close to him, for a while there I actually thought that I was going to lose him and the idea really did terrify me.
Our moment was ruined when the guys that saved our lives walked over to us.
"Thanks for calling the cops, I know it's not really our..." Caleb got cut off.
"We didn't call the cops," Trey interrupted leaving us quite bewildered.
"So then who did?" I asked.
"Aunt Doreen!" Devonte replied quite happy with himself. I looked at Caleb and he was giving me the same facial expression.
How the hell did Aunt Doreen know what was going on?
