Caleb
I've been in this familiar situation before. I was talking about looking down at Nadia as she slept on me. I don't think I've ever seen her this at peace. She was beautiful and watching her so at peace just made me grin. I didn't want to wake her up so I stayed in position but soon after she started stirring a little and she smiled as she looked up at me.
However, during the same minute she smiled she also cried in pain.
"Hangover," she muttered as she held her forehead in pain.
"Lightweight," I mumbled.
"Judgy," she groaned in pain. I could tell this was her first time with a hangover, the last time she had gotten drunk she quickly sobered up but this time not so much.
"Alright I'll go and get you some paracetamol," I say getting out of bed heading out the door.
"Thank you," she whines and I laugh. Last night I wasn't preparing to open up to Nadia but watching her look so innocent not understanding what was going on... it made me feel guilty. I was livid when I saw Jordan touching Nadia up, I mean how dare he. If it was any other guy it was up to Nadia but this was Jordan and he was out for revenge.
As I walked down the steps I heard a sound it was like pots and dishes were being manoeuvred and I walked past Mr and Mrs Johansen's room earlier and they were inside. It could be Jordan. What if he snuck into the house? I slowly walked by the kitchen and saw the back of the person. They had wore a black hoodie. I hadn't got any weapons and I wasn't planning on using any especially since I'd left the Herd so I decided to use my fists for defence. I snuck up from behind and kicked his legs so that he fell down.
"What the hell man! Caleb?" He yelled.
"Drew!" I yelled back as I looked down at Nadia's older brother. I clasped his hand and brought him up and into a hug.
"Man why you got to do me like that?" He laughed.
"Sorry Drew, I thought you were a burglar or someone trespassing," I explained.
"It's alright man it's good to know you're looking out for my family," he says whilst I pour Nadia a glass of water and search through the cupboards for paracetamol.
"Of course you guys are basically family to me,"
"Speaking of family, I heard what happened to your pops, how's he doing?" He asked and I grimaced, it still had some getting used to the fact that my father was in a hospital bed due to me.
"He's in recovery so that's something I guess," I reply, I finally found the paracetamol.
"You got a headache or something?" he asks. "Toughen up," he scoffs as I nudge him.
"It's actually for your lightweight younger sister," I scowl.
"Don't tell me she's drunk! What kind of influence are you to my sister? Should I be worried?" He says raising his eyebrows.
"She's my friend, she's the homie, basically a best friend," I explain to him stuttering.
"Alright Cal, the homie, the best friend, I get it but do you get it?" He asks me. I scowled at him, I knew what his game was. He wanted me to proclaim my undying love for Nadia but that would never happen. Nadia was different, she was important to me and I couldn't bare to lose her friendship.
"Fill up these buckets with cold water, Nadia's got to know she can't be doing this often," he passed me a bucket and I knew exactly what he was planning on doing. I mean it would be a hilarious sight to see.
