One by one I served out their punishment leaving only one male. He was still fastened to the ground by my sword with the body of a dead wolf laid out across his legs. I kicked the dead wolf off and the rogue screamed in agony. I stood over him my legs straddling his chest and gripped the handle of my sword. I slowly pulled it out and watched as he crawled backwards his butt dragging on the ground.
"Please spare me?"
"Spare you? Did you spare anyone from Blade's pack? Did you think twice when you slaughter those children? I will show you as much mercy as you showed them!" I wrapped my hands his throat and let the fire burn within me traveling down my arms to my fingertips. He started to scream as his skin sizzled and burned until he combust covering me in his body dust. I turned towards the three young boys. "I want you to tell all rogues what you have witnessed here. You tell them if they continue to follow the King's order in killing innocent packs, they will answer to me. You tell them that I will come for them and I will show no mercy. They will no longer hurt my people!"
"Wh-who are you?"
"I am your queen. Now go and spread the word! Do you understand?" They nodded and scampered off in different directions. The rage simmered lowering the anger inside and releasing all the violence that just occurred. I glance around at the carnage that I participated in realizing that I was focused again on my mission.
"Celina." Trevor's voice penetrated my thoughts and I peered to my right to see my friends. They appeared wary and cautious. I knew that they had witnessed the last few kills but held themselves away from me. I wondered if they were scared of me? Now that my adrenaline high was gone, I was exhausted.
I walked towards them my bloodied sword still in hand. I stopped at a dead wolf and wiped my blade clean. Sheathing my sword in the harness on my back, I walked passed everyone heading back towards the Halder Pack. At first they stood there, but after a few seconds followed me. No one said a word for about twenty minutes.
"Ummm, Celina?"
I stopped and turned on him. "What Jules!"
"You, uh, have ..." he made a sweeping motion with his finger by the side of his face. "...a piece of..umm..intestine hanging from your hair." Tim bumped Jules out of disbelief and fear.
"Are you crazy, she is going to kill us next!" Tim whispered violently.
I reached up and felt the slimy appendage tangled in my hair. I flicked it off and resumed walking.
"Uh, Celina.. don't mean to bother you again."
"Damn it, Jules what is it!"
"You might want to get cleaned up before we get anywhere near the Halder's territory." I blew out a frustrated sigh and looked at the others. Everyone avoided eye contact, except Jules. He shrugged his shoulders, "I'm just saying, you look like satan's baby that just got baptized in blood!"
"Jules! That's enough." Korin growled.
"Hell, no one else was going to say anything!"
"Jules is right, Celina. Let's stop off at the creek first to wash up." Korin pointed in the direction of the creek. I didn't utter a word but just started walking in that direction.
Korin lead our group towards the creek and Trevor walked beside me in silence. "What is it, Trevor?"
"I'm trying to figure out what is going on with you. I was able to read you better when you had your wolf."
"I'm tired."
"That's not what I mean."
"I know what you mean, but I'm not ready to talk about it. I'm still a little out of sorts."
