For the first time in a long time I felt like my old self, but more energized. My wolf was back and it was a great feeling. Added bonus was the heat radiating off of Korin's sleeping form next to me. I opened up my eyes staring up at the ceiling and listening to his steady breathing. I turned slowly careful not to wake him and skimming over his facial features. I placed my ear down over his beating heart enjoying the rhythmic sounds. He was alive! I wanted to know what happened in the last few hours. All I could remember was being with the moon goddess and the white wolf attacking me. Sighing I moved my hand lightly touching Korin's bare torso. His skin was so soft tracing the lines of his defined chest down to his sculpted abs.
"Don't stop." I quickly glanced up seeing Korin with a smile on his face. I continue with my exploration staying clear of the waistband of his shorts.
"Tell me what I missed? Last thing I remember was killing Sebastian but not before he stab me with my dagger."
"I can only tell you what was told to me. They said the moon goddess took over your body and brought me and Trevor back to life. Then she/you transformed the high guard into warrior wolves. Never seen nothing like it before."
"What about the plan? Did it work?"
"Yes we killed everyone and only allowed one to escape. He should get back to the palace in a couple of days."
"And our forces?"
"Most stayed in hiding. The King will not know that we have three times the warriors on our side." At least the plan was successful so when we attack he will underestimate us.
I sat up digesting all that Korin said. I was worried. "Celina what's wrong?" Korin had sat up with a puzzled look on his face. "You are not happy? I thought this would make you happy. You have your wolf back, me and Trev are alive, and you have a killer guard unit. You have me and I will submit to you and your wolf."
"Korin I am happy. It's something the moon goddess warned me about. She said that 'great success will come at a great sacrifice'. If she has done all of these things then what will be the 'great sacrifice'?"
"Come here, you can't worry about something that may happen in the future. All you can focus on is the present and make plans for the future. As for the 'great sacrifice' we will deal with it when it comes up. But first there is one thing we need to do now. That is to make you queen." Korin's arm squeezed me and I kept my head secured in the crook of his neck. He was right I need to focus on the now. My nerves and excitement swirled in the pit of my stomach at our impeding mating.
Korin gently separated me from his neck, his eyes shining with love. "Let's get cleaned up. You go ahead and use my bathroom and I will use the one down the hall. I will be back soon." He kissed the top of my head before jumping out of the bed and leaving the room. I threw back the covers trudging into the bathroom.
After fifteen minutes of using the bathroom, showering, and brushing my teeth I was a basket case of nerves. Should I put on clothes or hurry and get in the bed with nothing on? Ugh! I hated feeling this way. I cracked open the door and found the room still empty. I scurried over to the bed dropping the towel and dived under the bedsheets. Placing the sheets over my chest, only exposing my bare arms and shoulders, I tried calming myself down.
The bedroom door open revealing a smiling Korin carrying a tray of assorted foods. His hair was curler than usual and damp from his shower while his bare chest glisten with a smattering of lotion.
"Thought you might be hungry." Korin placed the tray next to me and sat on the bed. My mind was not focused on the food but on the man in front of me. Korin caught my lustful glance, "If you don't stop looking at me like that, we will do other things besides eating."
