It has been over a week since the King sent his men to attack the Halder’s Pack and I finally got my wolf. It’s been crazy trying to control my new abilities and the knowledge of everything about werewolves.  It was a lot but with Korin’s help along with my high guard I am dealing.  The thought of Korin made me smile.  I can’t believe how things have changed over the last few months.  When I met Korin he was a certifiable asshole, still is at times, but now he was supportive, loyal, and downright sexy.  I understand why he rejected me at first, he wanted to avoid all of this; he finally realized that our relationship was bigger than us. Taking back the kingdom from my crazed uncle was bigger than us.  I have to set things back right.

A pair of arms encircled my waist and I leaned back into Korin enjoying the feel of his body against mine. “Everyone is here.  You ready?” Korin nuzzles my ear his warmth breath triggered a ripple of sensation down my neck.

I wished we could stay like this for a little while longer, but duty was calling.  “Yes, I’m ready.”  I turned wrapping my arms around his neck.  I couldn’t resist his kissable lips as I pulled his head down to meet mine.  Goddess his lips were addictive. Our lips moved in sync consuming each other; I was lost in the moment as his tongue touched mine.  The heat between was ramping up fast and if Korin hadn’t stopped the kiss, I would have dragged him upstairs to our room. “We will continue this tonight.” Korin groaned.

We entered the room closing the door behind us and I scanned the faces that I allowed into the inner sanctum.  This room had become the war room in the past three days since our arrival at the Amazon Pack.  My most trusted advisers were all present,  Alpha Brant Halder, Korin’s dad, Deliah, the royal that was hiding in Keagan’s camp, Alpha Randall, unofficial guide in the castle,  Alpha Nadine Castor, Amazon Pack and current host, and of course my high guard Trevor, Jace, Raven, Sage, and Niko.

Those I wished were here but missing was Keagan, leader of the rogues that took me in when I died, Colin, rogue and Sage’s mate, and mostly Jules, my high guard and best friend. I smiled he would love to hear me admit that of all those around me he was my best friend.  He was fiercely loyal, always trying to make me laugh, and listened and confided in me without acting bossy.  Like Trevor, Korin, and my uncle Thadius. I shook the sadness away from me quickly when I thought about the betrayal of Thadius, the man who raised me and taught me everything I know. Korin gave my hand a quick squeeze and a questioning eye when he noticed my stiffness.  He must of have sense my sadness; I patted his hand mouthing ‘I’m fine’ keeping our mindlink blocked.

“Celina, Jules delivered your message.” Trevor also noticing my changing moods shot me a look of concern.  Damn him, I forget how intuned he is to me.  Sometimes knowing what I need before I realize it.  “Of course, he caused a scene.”

“He wouldn’t be Jules if he didn’t. Well that means we move out first light.  Everyone ready?”

Alpha Halder stood before speaking.  “I’m sorry I can’t do it.  They are others who feel the same way.”

“We have already discussed this Alpha Halder.” I didn’t want to keep repeating myself, but Korin’s dad was so stubborn.

“You are not going to stop me Celina, I have as much of a right to be there as anyone else.  I need to be there.  Don’t throw away some of your best assets.”

I glance at Korin for help but he quickly avoided my plea, I guess I was on my own.  Alpha Randall also stood up giving Halder a pat turning to me with a look of determination.  Great they are about to gang up on me.  “You know why I don’t want you there.  Staying behind is just as important.  Please don’t let this be about male ego.”
