Royal War: Sequel to Royal Secret

Chapter 26

"Son take it easy." Straining against my Dad's hands  to sit up, I search around wildly trying to figure out why I was in the pack hospital. "Listen to me, calm down."

"Where's Celina? What happened?" As soon as I asked my dad that question I remembered everything. My hands and eyes met at the same place on my body, my chest. "I should be dead! That bastard shot me!" The memory of Sebastian shooting made me angry.

"Celina brought you back." My dad eyes were rimmed with red. "I thought I lost you this time." He threw his arms around me into a bear hug.

"I'm okay dad.  How did she bring me back?"

"I don't know. Not even sure if it was her."

"Where is she is!"

"She walked out earlier followed by her guard. They are all gone."

I got off the metal slab went I felt a jolt run through me. Celina's wolf has returned. I dashed out of the room guided by my wolf's urgency to find his mate. Her scent called to us and we followed it out the front door.
There she stood on the front lawn with five vicious-looking, snarling wolves surrounding her.

Celina turned around as soon as I  hit the outdoors her glowing, neon blue eyes begging me to come closer.  MATE, MATE, MATE! My wolf howled in my head.

Trevor's wolf stationed himself directly in front of Celina.  His wolf had morphed to an impressive size.   He was wider and taller than my wolf, and more deadly with razor sharp, silver spikes covering his body, just like the others.   They were intimidating and wolves will think twice before getting near any of them.  Well I wasn't any wolf and they were not going to stop me from getting to my mate.

My muscles tightened and I mentally geared up ready to take on any of them that tried to stop me.  As I neared the wolves snarls quieted and Trevor moved to the side to allow me access to Celina. Raising both hands to her face, I cup her cheeks searching for any recognition to spark in her eyes.  Her lips turned upward into a smile and that is all I needed as a sign that she was mine. My greedy lips landed on hers and my hands dropped from her face to wrap around her back bringing us closer. Celina's arm snaked around my neck and she open for me allowing our tongues to savor every taste of each other.

The heated kiss was over quickly as I felt Celina's body go limp. If I wasn't holding her so tightly she would have fell backwards.  I scooped her up as groans and grunts erupted around me. Trevor and the others had shifted back into their human forms and were laid out on the ground.

"Korin, take her to your room." Trevor croaked. "I will be up there in a minute to explain." Trevor was dragging his body up on his hands and knees as I spun around taking Celina up to my room.

We were both filthy and before putting her into the bed, I went into the bathroom stripping us of our clothes.  I was hoping the water would rouse her, but it didn't.  I was only able to rinse off  the remnants of blood and dirt. I dressed her in one of my tshirts and shorts and I did the same before their was a knock at the door.

Trevor entered wearing only shorts and sunk into the chair by the door.  

"You don't look so good, man." I sat on the edge of the bed watching Trevor and waited for him to respond.

"She changed us, it took a lot out of us." Trevor answered his eyes remaining closed.

"Well.." I wanted answers and I was getting impatient. "Is she hurt? Will she wake up?"

Trevor's eyes popped opened, "Celina got her wolf back. She is fine, her body just needs a little rest."

"What I want to know is how she raised me from the dead?"

"Us.  She raised us from the dead.  That was not Celina, but the moon goddess. Most of what happened was with  the help of the moon goddess.  She brought us back and then transformed us into warrior wolves.  It is our new gift from the moon goddess. Everything makes sense now.  All that information Thadius gave me is now clear."

"What's the significance of turning you into warrior wolves?  Is that common for all high guard?"

"No.  We are the only ones.  I don't know how much Celina told you about the history of queens, but each queen is different depending on what is needed during their reign.  Celina's mother was a negotiator and great at keeping the peace.  She didn't have the fighting spirit that was necessary to deal with her brother.  

Unfortunately she tried to see the good in everyone, and show mercy.  Her act of mercy by letting her brother live at his first unsuccessful attempt to overthrow was the beginning of her eventual downfall.  Celina is different, she grew up fighting.  The moon goddess is making her a warrior queen, because of what lies ahead. That is why were changed into warrior wolves."

"It's not just the King we will face is it?" I gazed down at Celina's peaceful, sleeping face my thumb grazing her warm lips as Trevor talked.  Warrior queen meant fighting which I knew was inevitable, but why make her warrior queen if we only had to overthrow her uncle?

Trevor got up and came over standing next to me staring down at Celina.  "I know you don't want to hear this, but no I think there is more than just fighting the King. I need to know are you joining us?"

I shot up placing myself  in front of him. "Are you fucking kidding me, Trev? Of course I'm in it! I am her mate and I will submit to her wolf."

"Good.  Take care of her. I am going down to see how our plan worked and bury our dead.  I put out a message for the two of not to be disturb today.  I will send some food up."

As soon as Trevor left, I crawled into bed next to Celina positioning her body next to mine.  I love the feel of her body next to mine her heavenly scent making my wolf purr.  I drifted off to sleep sighing with content.

Warrior Princess... Warrior Queen... Reminds me of Xena.. Anybody use to watch that show? Loved it.

The picture of the warrior wolf was the closest representation I could fine.  Just imagine the spikes are silver and the wolves are more muscular, like on steriods.  

Next chapter is Celina POV and the much waited mating scene.  Not sure how I will write it, i have a few scenes in my head but not sure which one to go with (G, PG, R ah choices).  Will sit on it for a day and begin writing it tonight.
