The Lights

(Kade's POV)

I don't know what this feeling is. I've felt it for so long ,but never this intense. Every time he looks at me my heart flutters.

The way he bites his lip ,and laughs at me is so amazing it makes me smile. He just makes me feel on fire when he's around.

He takes my hand leading me up the hill. His eyes glistened as he looked towards the woods. I squeeze his hand ,and I could feel myself blushing. After 15 minutes we got to the hilltop ,and he lays out the blanket. It's almost 8 at night ,and the sun was almost fully down. I walk to the cliffs edge ,and I look over it at the town below. Slowly the lights started to turn on. They shined like stars ,and I smile.

"It's beautiful," I say watching the lights.

He walks over to my side ,and he looks at the lights then to me.

"They are pretty. But your the only one that shines brighter then them," he says smiling down at me.

I feel my cheeks grow hotter ,and he puts his hand on my cheek. I reach up touching his neck ,and he rubs a slow circle into my cheek.

"Why does it have to be you," I sigh.

"It's fate. It means that we're perfect," he smiles bigger ,and I start to relax.

"I don't wanna drag you into this," I say looking up at him.

He laughs a little pulling me closer to him, "I'm already dragged in."

I hug him tightly ,and his arms wrap around me in a tight embrace. I smile as I squeeze him.

"I promise you I'm not leaving ,Kade," he whispers.

I slowly pull back looking up at him. He looks down at me ,and raises his hand to my cheek.

"I wish I could believe it," I whisper.

He leans down to my level ,making me look at him, "then let me prove it."

I look into his eyes ,and in full honesty they are full of care.

I nod slowly ,and he pulls away.

"How about we eat then," he sits on the blanket ,and I look down at him.

Why didn't he try to kiss me. I think he's finally grown up.

I sit down next to him ,and we eat our food. We swap stories ,and laugh at each other. Finally we lay back ,and I look up at the stars. He looks at them as well. Slowly we got closer to one another until finally his arm was around me.

"You know," he says, "I never felt like my whole world was so close to me."

He looks up at the stars ,and I look over at him.

"I never felt like I was so small compared to everything else. I'm Mr 'Big Bad Wolf'. I'm not supposed t care about anything. I'm supposed to sleep around ,and be a jerk. But I feel different. I'm realizing who I am," he says looking down at me.

Is he talking about me?

"Kade," he says leaning up.

I lean up as well ,and he takes my hand in his.

"Will you let me prove to you that your my will to change by being my one and only," he says.

I stare at him thinking things over in my head.

He's telling the truth. I can feel it.

"Yes," I hug him ,and he hugs me back.

"Thank you!" He squeezes me as he says that.

I start to space out thinking about how happy I was ,and he last thing I heard was his voice saying...

You are the lights. My candle in dark. If I have you my path is clear. But when I don't.. I'm left in darkness.
