How did every thing go so wrong?
How did we loose so many people?
What did we do wrong?
We were so happy...

"Where's Glenn and Maggie? We could use some help." I asked looking around, the blazing sun burning my back
"Up in the guard tower. " Daryl replied. He smirked and looked back to his work, paying no attention to my confused face.
"Guard tower? They were just up there last night." I asked, causing Daryl to burst out with laughter. He winked at me before yelling,
"Glenn! Maggie!" Soon after the call a bare chested Glenn appeared, his eyes squinting in the morning sun
"Hey, what's up, guys?" He said as an also squinting Maggie appeared
"You call me?" Daryl yelled up at them. Finally getting the joke I laughed and shortly after I noticed Rick laughing too.
"What?" Glenn shouted back, fastening his belt as he went
"You comin'? Come on, we could use a hand." He called up. Maggie's face turned from tired to annoyed as she started to move back in to the guard tower.
"Yeah, we'll be right down." Glenn called before following after Maggie.
"Hey, Rick.Come with me." Carol said suddenly joining the conversation. Daryl and I followed after our retreating leader as he headed towards one of the fences of the prison. Two of the prisoners I had seen yesterday stood alone, the shorter one was grasping at the fence. As we approached Rick spoke authoritatively raising his hand to the two men.
"That's close enough." When everyone stood still Rick spoke again
"We had an agreement." Ricks hand rested on his gun almost instinctively
"Please, mister. We know that.We made a deal. But you've gotta understand we can't live in that place another minute. You follow me? All the bodies-- people we knew.- Blood, brains everywhere. There's ghosts." The shorter one spoke. He seemed to be shaking down to his very boots
"Why don't you move the bodies out? You should be burning them." I said only to have Daryl take my hand and pull me toward him protectively. He gave me a look that told me to shut the fuck up and let Rick speak
"We tried. We did.The fence is down on the far side of the prison.Every time we drag a body out, those things just line up.So we would be dumping a body and just running back inside." Rick shifted in his spot his hand tensing around his weapon and the other clenching into a fist.
"Look, we had nothing to do with Thomas and Andrew.Nothing." Spoke the taller and darker skinned man. His voice was stoic and reassuring, but being on the road had taught us all not to fall for shit like that.
"You trying to prove a point?" Spoke the shorter man again raising his hand from the fence into the air before letting one land on his chest
"You proved it, bro. We'll do whatever it takes to be part of your group.Just, please, please.Don't make us live in that place." His eyes were wide and hopeful but Ricks mirrored the luck of distrust and repulsion that Daryl's did towards the outsiders.
"Our deal is not negotiable." Rick began taking a step forward
"You either live in your cell block, or you leave." The large prisoner threw his arms in the air
"I told you this was a waste of time. They ain't no different than the pricks who shot up our boys. You know how many friends' corpses we had to drag out this week? Just threw 'em out, like.Humph." My heart ached silently as I heard him speak. I looked up to Daryl but his face still held the same look
