Chapter 17.
Around three o’clock Jake and I decided that we would take the girls to the park. I got my flip flop on and got Scar ready to go while Jake got Char ready. “Ready?” Jake asked grabbing the girls two seated stroller and strapping Char in because I already put Scar in. I grabbed my crutches and pushed myself of the steps. “Ready.” I said. We walked down the street to the park. (I hobbled on my crutches.) when we got there I grabbed Scarlett and sat on the swing instead of standing. I watched Jake play with Charlotte on the slide and catch her at the bottom. He was so great kids. I thought. Scarlett fell asleep in my arms after around five minutes but I still watched Jake. He started coming over. “Hey. The little one fell asleep.” I said. “I see that. She loves you you know. And you look so great with her in your arms” Jake said. “Thanks. She is the cutest.” I said. While Jake put Charlotte in the stroller. “Do you want to head back?” Jake asked. I nodded. Jake grabbed Scarlett out of my hands and put her in the stroller while I grabbed my crutches and pushed myself off the swing. We walked quietly for a few minutes until my cast hit a rock and went flying forward. “Moon.” Jake shouted and stopped beside me. He turned me over and I felt tears flowing out of my eyes. He cradled me in his arms. “Are you ok?” Jake asked. I couldn’t talk my leg hurt even worse now. “I don’t know. I feel ok. But my leg hurts.” I said. “I’m taking you home.” Jake said. He pulled out his phone and dialled a number a few minutes later my car pulled up. “What happened?” Star asked. “She tripped. I just want you to drive her back to my house.” Jake said. “Ok.” Star said while opening the back door. Jake lifted me up and put me in the back. I looked at him straight in the eyes and said. “Thank you.” “Your welcome.” Jake said closing the door. Star drove m to Jake’s house and carried me onto the couch. She was actually pretty strong. “Thanks.” I said. “No problem but I have to go. I’m meeting Garth for lunch.” Star said. “Bye.” I said as Star left the house. A few minutes later I saw Jake rush in the door he grabbed the baby’s out put Scarlett into a play pen to sleep and Charlotte went onto the floor. He came over to my side and grabbed my hand. “Are you sure your ok?” Jake asked. “I’m positive. Than you for being there though.” I said. “No problem.” Jake said. He kissed the top of my head and the went to go answer the phone that just started ringing. He came back a minute later. “Do you still want to come to dinner?” Jake asked. ‘Yeah. I like your sister and brother in law. Your sister is nice to talk to.” I said. “Ok. Well they want us to head over.” Jake said. “Ok.” I said. Jake put the babies into the car and put the stroller in the back. He helped me get in and the we drove a couple blocks away to Kylie’s house. There was a white little wooden fence before the drive so Jake got out and opened it. I think it was to keep the babies in the yard and to be safe. He got back in the car drove ahead a bit and the close the gate again. When we pulled up to the hose it was beautiful it looked like a celebrity could live there. Technically all the houses in California were made to look like celebrities houses. When Jake stopped the car Kylie cam out with Kenny and grabbed the kids while Jake helped me out of the car. “Hey.” I said. “Hello.” Kylie and Kenny said “How were they?” Kylie asked while we went into the house. “They were good.” I said. I sat down on the floor and played with Charlotte while Scarlett got taken up to her room. Jake sat down beside me and we played with Charlotte while Kylie disappeared into the kitchen. Kenny just sat and watched T.V and a few minutes later Kylie called us to com and get dinner. She made a nice plate of chicken. Jake grabbed my plate while I settled down in my chair. Charlotte sat beside me and kept playing with my hair that was in a pony tail. “Pretty hair.” She said. “Thank you.” I said. While Jake put my plate down and sat beside me. We ate dinner quietly and when it was done Kylie asked. “I heard your friend was staying with you? Star is it?” “Yeah. I didn’t want her to leave because it’s getting down to t the last few months and I wanted to graduate with her. And who told you that?” I asked. “Jake.” Kylie said. I looked at Jake. I gave him a little joke nudge. He grabbed my plate and we went into the living room to play with Charlotte and Scar because she woke for dinner and now we could play with both of them Jake took them both because I couldn’t. we sat down and Kenny and Kylie walked in and sat on the couch.
