Chapter 10.
Selena.
She was sitting on the edge of the bed holding Jake’s hand. “Hey Moonlight. How are you?” Jake asked. Damn I was going to leave. “Good. You?” I asked. Not even looking in Selena’s direction. “Good. Want to sit down there’s a chair beside the bed.” Jake said. “Um. Well. I was wondering if I could talk to you alone?” I asked. “I’m not leaving. So your going to have to talk to the both of us.” Selena said. “Selena. Please it will only take a few minutes.” Jake said. “Fine. Only for you.” Selena said. Getting up and leaving the room glaring at me. “Hey.” I said. “Hey. How are you?” Jake asked. “I’m doing ok. I had a question for you.” I said. “Ok. Spill.” Jake said. “Did you actually say. “I love you Moonlight?” before you passed out.” I asked. “Yes. And I meant it. I am so sorry for what I did.” Jake said. “Then why is she here?” I asked. “I don’t know. She was here when I woke up. But the only person I wanted to wake up to is you holding my hand.” Jake said. “I’m sorry I left. I just thought that you didn’t really like me and you were playing me. Just for Selena.” I said. “Can you come sit?” Jake asked. I went and sat on the edge of the bed beside Jake. Once I sat down he grabbed my hand. “I would never do that. I love you to much Moonlight. From the minute I saw you I wanted you to be mine. Please believe that I would never ever let you go again. That’s why I moved here. To make sure you were save.” Jake said. “Really?” I asked. Tears started flowing down my face like a water fall. “Really. And why are you crying?” Jake asked. “I don’t now. And I believe you. But you have to never let me go again.” I said. “I promise. Oh. That reminds me. When Brad was showing me around I got you something.” Jake said. While wiping away a tear. “What is it?” I asked. “You’ll see.” Jake said. He bent down and grabbed a bag from under his bed. He got out of his bed and walked to there other side where I was sitting. “What are you doing?” I asked. “One second.” Jake said. He bent down on one knee. Right there I knew what he was doing and my hand shot up to my mouth. “Will you marry me?” Jake asked. “Yes.” I said instantly. “Really?” Jake asked. I nodded. More tears flowed down my eye’s. he opened the box and I saw a big diamond with diamonds all around the band. “Oh my gosh.” I said. He lifted up my left hand and slipped on the ring. “It is so beautiful. I love it.” I said. Staring at the ring. “I hoped you would. And I’m glad that you like it.” Jake said. “I love you so much.” I said. Jake leaned up and gave me a light kiss on the lips. “What the hell was that about?” Selena asked standing at the door. I looked up and so did Jake. “I thought I told you to stay out until someone got you.” Jake said. “No. you said “Can you please wait outside for a minute.” So don’t you dare say I wasn’t aloud to come in. And why did you ask that?” Selena said standing in front of us. “I love her. And if you don’t mind I would like you to leave.” Jake said. Sitting on the edge of the bed beside me and holding my hand. I actually couldn’t believe Selena watched the whole thing. Or most of it. “I’m not leaving. I’m here for my friend. But it seems like he got what he wanted.” Selena said glaring at me. “I’m happy you’re here. But you need to leave because your acting mean.” Jake said. “Fine. Hope you guys have a great wedding.” Selena said walking out of the hospital door just as the nurse walked in. “I am going to give you some good news.” The nurse said. Coming over to the side of the bed. “What is it?” I asked. “Jake your able to go home now. But you have to stay on crutches because of your ribs.” The nurse said. “Sweet. Can you take me home?” Jake asked me. “Sure.” I said. “Ok. Hope you get better.” The nurse said. “Thanks.” Jake said while the nurse was talking off all the tubes. After she was done that Jake got dressed and we left. When we got to the car I helped him in and drove him home.
