Chapter 8.

“Wow. Your back.” My teacher Mr. Keith said. (Keith is his real name. He doesn’t like his last.) “Yeah. I like here better. And I get to stay with Star.” I said. “Cool. Please take you seats class. And welcome back Moonlight.” Mr. Keith said. The class cheered for me. He sent out the assignments and we got down to work. At lunch after our other two classes Star and I went up town to get lunch. We got Subway. Then we went back to the school to eat. After lunch we went to our last class. And then the day was over. My friends came over after school we hung out for a bit. Then at 5 they all went home while Star and I made dinner. We made burgers. They were good after dinner we did our home work together and then went to bed. The next day was Tuesday so I had dance. ( I took it when I still lived there and now I get to again.) I woke up feeling so tired so I took a shower and got ready. I grabbed a slice of toast and Star and I left for school with our friends. We had another short day but right when the bell rang after school I left to dance and Jake was at my studio. I totally ignored him though. “Hey.” He said. “Hi.” I said. Just to be polite. “I hear you moved back here.” He said. “Yeah. I needed a break.” I said. “Oh.” He said. “Why are you even here?” I asked. “I wanted to know how you were doing.” He said. “Well. Im fine. Can you please leave? I have practice in a minute.” I asked. “Yeah.” He said. Walking out looking all sad. He was probably trying to make me feel jealous. But I wasn’t skipping dance to go and follow him. I am trying to for get everything about that place. Dance was two hours long. And after I walked home. Until Jake showed up. “Why are you following me?” I asked. “Im not. I want to know what happened.” He said. “Nothing. Now please go away. I let so I would get away. And how did you get here any way?” I asked. “I drove. Why wont you talk to me?” He asked. “Because you hurt me. I felt afraid. No go.” I said. “No. What were those thoughts about?” He asked. “About you leaving me for her. Are you happy now?” I asked. “I wouldn’t do that. Please can we still be friends?” He asked. “No. I cant trust you.” I said. He leaned in and kissed me. “Can you trust me now?” Jake asked. “A little. I have to go.” I said. Walking down Stars path. “Bye.” He said. “Bye.” I said. I walked into the house and Star was standing right there. “Who was that?” She asked. “Jake.” I said. “The one you told us about?” She asked. “Yes.” I said. Walking up to my room. “Why is he here? I thought he lived in California.” She asked. “He does. He apparently wanted to get things straight.” I said. Plopping down on my bed. Star sat beside me. “Oh. Do you trust him?” She asked. “A little. But he is probably going to leave. And not come back.” I said. “Maybe he is. But he might just stay for you.” She said. “Doubt that.” I said. We laughed and I hit her with my pillow. In the head. “What was that for?” She asked. After laughing to hard. “You keep getting gooey ideas in your head. We laughed again. “Im home.” Stars mom said. “Hey.” Star and I said at the same time. We walked down stairs and went into the kitchen to see that Stars mom brought us Dairy queen blizzards and Burger King. “Thanks mom.” Star said. “Thanks.” I said. We sat in the living room and ate while we watched T.V. a little while later we finished up and Star and I went up stairs to get our home work finished. After that it was 8. So I asked. “Do you want to go for a walk?” “Sure. Where to?” She asked. “My little hiding spot.” I said. “Sure.” She said. We told Stars mom and she was fine with it. Then we walked down to the hiding spot. We talked about Jake and Selena. But it didn’t last long. Because I didn’t want to talk about her. Then we goofed around after a while. We were at the hiding spot. “Wow. It is still the same.” I said. It was the same. It was so beautiful. We stayed there or a while and then walked back home. To get ready for bed. I crawled into bed after saying. “Good night.” To Stars parents and Star.
