The fox ran, not stopping for you as you ran out of stamina. You were forced to use all of your will-power to continue. Man, if you were a Full-Fledged or Mid-Flight you'd be able to fly for days, being an In-Training, not the best.

" W-wait!" you choked out, gasping for air.

There was a fiery sensation on your wings since you were flying for such a long time. They felt like they were ready to fall off any moment, but you ignored the pain. After All, you've endured worse thanks to Thomas. The pain you were experiencing was nothing comparing to Thomas' bite, so you were able to last longer than you thought you would. That was until your wings involuntarily gave out on you, making you fall onto the ground face first.

" Oh dear Lo-" was the last thing you said before making impact on the ground. Good thing you weren't a human. At the speed you were going at, a simple human adult or child would have gotten horrible injured. But, since you were an angel were sort of more durable-ish. You spat out dirt that forced its way into your mouth, " Ew, gross." you scrunched your nose in disgust. " Thank God, nobody was there to witness that."

Yip

In front of you was the fox, its face as giving this strange look like it was internally laughing.

" Oh, now you stop." you sighed, ready to fly as soon as you got on your feet until your now sore wings forced you to be ground-bound. They didn't move at all. " Uh no, this is bad," you muttered to yourself. Well, looks like you're not able to fly for a while. You thought the fox was going to leave, but it stayed with you. " You-you're not going to leave?" you were surprised.

It sat there, doing its usual stare at you like you were something amazing. It was weird. Lightly it lifted up its paw, then tapped it on the ground. Kinda looked like it wanted you to sit down or rest, interesting.

You decided to heck with it, and you sat down like the fox possibly instructed. " You're a strange fox. I'll give you that."

The fox yipped, walking closer to you and laid next to you, placing its head on your lap.

It was a strange fox, indeed it was. From what you heard from Alex, fox preferred to be isolated and not very social. Perhaps, the old owner of that house you woke up in had a pet fox. A sad explanation, but that was all you could think of.

" I still don't remember how I got to that house," you mentioned, relaxing your wings. In a joking tone, you said, " Hey, lil fox, you weren't know how I woke up in that old house?"

It shook its head.

When you about to ask the fox a question about why it shook its head, but there was a shadow that covered you and the fox, making the fox run away.

" Oh, there you are, Miss (Y/n). It seemed like you were one step ahead of my us" Oh no. Dear God. Not him.

You looked up, " George the Third. Where's Washington?"

George laughed as your fellow In-Trainings appeared behind him. " He has other duties to attend to."

" Um...what did I miss?"

" Nothing important, just doing yesterday's training, due to Washington's dissatisfaction with some In-Trainings messing with mortal affairs." he looked behind the In-Trainings. " But also he wants you, angels, to practice your form-alteration. He told me that you'll have to return to this location at sun-fall." George landed on the ground followed by the others. " I expect you In-Trainings to act your age," he told them. " Now, let us begin."

Took you a while to change since you were almost out of energy, but George was patient-ish. Though he did say, " Hurry up, if you're going to take that long you'll surely be killed by a demon,"

" Wow, I feel so safe after you said that." you sighed, finally changing your form into a human.

" What was that?"

" Nothing!

You were paranoid, nervous that Thomas could be watching from afar or nearby. It was driving you mad to the point where you didn't want to go into the town. Sure you liked the buildings and shops, but not when Thomas was around.

Taking a deep breath, you motivated yourself by saying, " Okay, you can do this. If you do see him, you can fight him. You were trained for this. Just try to relax." You began to browse the dresses outside while talking to yourself to soothe your fears. " You're a fearless and-I-I mean human. You'll be fi-" You yelped as someone touched your shoulder. Well, so much for being a fearless angel.

" Um, Miss, are you okay?"

You looked at the reflection of the glass, a man.

" Oh, I'm so sorry!" you turned to face the man. " I was just thinking!"

The man chuckled, " No offense taken. I just couldn't help, but notice that you seemed interested getting one of the dresses. Are you?"

" Oh, you're mistaken. I'm just fascinated looking at the dress."

" Is that a yes, dear?"

" I-um...I.." you sighed. " Why not." you grinned. " You must be the vendor for the dresses."

The man shook his head, " Me? No, but if I did, you'd see women run out of the shop, and me having a red mark on my cheek from them slapping me. " he joked, making you laugh, opening the door for you as both of you entered the dress shop.

" Oh, what are my manners. I'm (Y/n)."

" Jason Dove" he introduced himself. " A pleasure to meet you, Miss (Y/n)."

You smiled, " Likewise."
