Thomas walked in front of you, " Come on, it's not that far."

You were finally able to regain your voice. " Thomas, what was that? How did you find me so fast?"

He bowed his head down, staring at the ground. " I'm going to be honest, I don't know." He began to slow down and have you catch up to him. " One moment, the song that we everyone danced to ended, next thing I knew there was this sharp pain in my chest, and I was running for no reason. After that, I was pissed off when I saw those to men persecuting you, then slammed that man onto the ground." He huffed, " I swear in Hell's many districts if I ever see him again, I'll kill him."

" You don't mean that, right?" Thomas gave the 'what do you think?' look. " Nevermind, sorry."  You kept your mouth shut as you debated on asking him one more question. You didn't clearly hear it, but you swore you heard Thomas say something about you.

'She's mine.'

Did you hear that correctly? Or being in the middle of the heat forced you to hear things. If he did say that, then did that mean he wanted you as his mate still? That gave you chills down your spine.

" He's just being protective," you tried to tell yourself, refusing to believe what you heard. " Right?"

Thomas moved his eyes towards you but only for a split moment. " I'm sorry if I scared you. It must have brought up unpleasant memories of me-Well, you know, torturing you." He lifted up his hand to watch a snowflake evaporate upon landing on it. " (Y/n)."

" Hmm?" your attention quickly snapped towards him.

The appearance in his eyes was regretful as he stared at the ground. " If I do lose control to the point I'm just a murderous monster, please, try to stop me," he requested. " Kill me if it comes to that."

You stopped in your tracks, but then forced yourself to trot on." I was able to bring you back the first time."

" I know you were able to, but you were able to do that by sheer luck. Next time, a kiss might not work anymore." You and Thomas were close to the church that was next to the house you were staying in. Upon passing by the church, Thomas winced in pain, his hand placed on his temple.

" Thomas!" you exclaimed with concern.

He smiled, laughing off the pain. " It's okay. I'm fine. Just not a big fan of the holy stuff. Sort of a big pain in a literal way."

You sighed with relief, " Thank goodness." Then it hit you, " Wait, does that mean when I'm around you it hurts? And why would want to be mate with someone that brings you pain when you're around them?"

" As I said yesterday, I wanted to turn you into a demon. Also, a church since it host's God is more potent than an angel. But if I had to rate the amount of pain, I'd say holy grounds cause pain that resembles dismemberment. Angels, well, are more like a being flicked. However, nothing can outdo the pain when shapeshifting," he added in, watching you open the door when you two arrived at the house.

" Hi, (Y/n)!" one of the In-Trainings greeted you when you opened the door.

You jumped, going in front of Thomas as an attempt to hide him. " Oh! Hey!" you greeted back.

The In-Training looked passed you, " Who's this?" she questioned. Then her eyes narrowed, pulling you closer so she could whisper to you. " You're not doing what I think you're doing, right?"

" What?" you sounded bemused by her questioning.

" You know!" she pulled you even closer. " Tell them that you're an angel!" She waved to Thomas and returned her attention back to you.
