With a soft yawn, you sat up, sheets slowly sliding off your figure. Your face burned with embarrassment, remembering what had occurred. In your mind, you were screaming internally. Your mental screams lasted for five minutes until you managed to calm down.
You took a deep breath. Your mind was contemplating if you regretted or enjoyed it. One side was pleased by the unfamiliar sensation Thomas delivered; you felt happy and wholesome. However, your angel side begged to differ, bashing at you for partaking in something so taboo for Heaven's community. It was like you were two people fused into one single entity, both sides fighting for control.
Getting out of bed, you searched for your undergarments and then put them on. Finally, you were able to throw on your dress.
" I probably should find Thomas so we can leave," you muttered to yourself, fixing the bed to its original form before the "cleansing" session.
With shaky hands, you turned the doorknob then swung the door open. Running out of the bedroom, you quickly closed the door. You were met with the large interior of the house. As you walked around the house, you turned to every corner lead you to another unfamiliar area. The damn house was like a maze. You opened every door, checking if Thomas was in one of the rooms. Still, no sign of the demon.
You winced as you felt a sharp pain in your head; guess you didn't get enough rest after what you did with Thomas. Once it subsided, you opened another door that led you to a new room.
Your eyes widened, " A nursery?"
The baby crib laid near a window, Hell's "sky" lights beamed through the glass. Dust layered itself onto every item within the room, giving off the strong scent of it. The nursery was tastefully decorated cute yet somehow sophisticated furniture. It reminded of Philip's room, but without a piano.
You coughed, walking around the room. Your eyes grew irritated from the dust. Why would Thomas have a nursery in his house? You looked out the window, rubbing your eyes that teared up because of the dust in the air.
Your body tensed, feeling heavy hands gently placed onto your shoulders. " What are you doing here?" Thomas interrogated. The sudden sharp tone in his voice pierced through the silent nursery.
You flinched, " Do you always have to appear unannounced?!"
" I called out your name a minute ago," Thomas responded. " Now, explain yourself." He was acting like you had stepped in a sacred land, then again, you were barging into every room; Thomas being slightly territorial was justifiable.
" I was looking for you," you told him.
The expression in his eyes softens, more understanding." I see, and what made you think I'd be roaming within this vacant nursery?"
" I didn't, I was just curious why you'd have a nursery," you explained to him. " So, why do you have a nursery?"
You felt Thomas remove his hands off your shoulder. He walked in a circle to scan the room.
He sighed deeply, " I mean, I thought it would be slightly obvious, but I suppose I need to elaborate." He leaned against the wall near the crib. " Long ago, I had a mate; my wife to be exact. We were-" he paused, eyes flickering red. He closed his eyes, breathing heavily now, massaging his temple. You went to him, then place your hand on top of his. He opened his eyes at your sudden action, staring at you for a moment, then broke his gaze. " We were expecting a child. Of course, my wife and I were ecstatic to be parents. We planned out everything in our child's life. However, my job got in the way," he stated. " She got in the crossfire of my job and- well, you know how that turned out," he tried to laugh off the pain even though it was not a laughing matter.
