*Sonic Eternal*

  After Mary fell asleep I just laid there staring at the ceiling without anything to go on. By that I mean that there is nothing for me to do at all. I can only pet Mary's arm or head without waking her up. All I do is look up and think about what could be happening right now if I had never run into Mary in the first place. It is a bad thing to do I know that however she has become so close to me I can't even imagine a day without her in my life. Thanks a lot Mary! I let out a sigh and that makes Mary turn around in her sleep.

  "No..." She whispered in her sleep. Its then that I can start to feel her sweat. She is really scared by this dream.

  I begin to gently shake her. She moans in resentment like I expected. In response to this I turn her over so she is facing me and I begin to gently say her name in her ear. On about my tenth time saying her name she slowly opens her eyes with tears starting to fall down her cheek. I wipe off her tears and give her a sincere smile.

  "What's wrong?"

  "Nothing it was just a dumb nightmare." She replies with a joyful tone right before giving me a hug.

  With that I just forget about what's going on with her and trust her. I give her a hug back.

  "By the way what time is it Sonic?"

  I check my watch real quick and see it is only five before eleven. I sigh thinking that today can't go any slower.

  "Sonic?" Mary says my name while bonking my head.

  "Sorry. It's only ten fifty-five."

  "Wow it's so early for us to be skipping huh?" She asks me teasingly.

  "Hey! When I skip school I'm most likely in another state by now helping another guardian train their replacement!" I shout.

  "Replacement huh?" Mary says aloud while going into thought. "When are you gonna have a replacement Sonic?"

  "Unfortunately until I can find someone who can do my job almost as good as me that won't be consumed by the power they'll get in return."

  "How long might that take Sonic?"

  "About another fifty years or so." I say with a hint of sadness in my voice.

  "What if you have a child in that time Sonic?"

  "If I have a child before I can start training a replacement then my son or daughter will be forced to take my place. Also if I don't train him/ her then other monsters will try to kill my child in order to take his/ her place. It's an old monster rule."

  "Oh..."

  "I'm gonna go hit something. By that Mary I mean I'm gonna train a little bit so no monster kills me and takes my place." I laugh jokingly.

  I get up from bed and start to go downstairs. Once I am I go into my backyard where it seams normal but it actually can turn into an amazing training place for someone like me in no time at all. I flick a switch that says, "Do not flip unless you have the bat's blood." Then after it's flipped a fully loaded training area appears. It's lined with deadly weapons. So deadly that if your a human then you would have no hope of survival. However if your a bat like me then you are the one whos most likely to survive this death trap of a practice ground.

I hear Mary worry about me in the kitchen but I just give her a smirk showing that I'm completely safe. She looks on in terror and I can sense she's keeping something from me. Something big. I look at the training area my dad made for me when he first saw me. Then as I got older he upgraded it almost every single day. I race through it so fast that its completely wrecked before Mary can blink. I yawn.

"DAD THE TRAINING AREA IS STILL TO WEAK!" I shout to my dad.

"Then you better not have wreaked it again Sonic!"

Me and Mary laugh in unison looking back at the scarp that was a couple of seconds ago my training area. I grab Mary's hand and take her with me to a secret spot of mine. I use my speed to take me and Mary to a hill that overlooks the ocean. It's so secluded that no one but me knows about it.

"Wow! Sonic where are we?"

"My secret spot. I come here when I need a break from everything. No one but us knows about this place."

"That is what you would think little bat." A strange and evil sounding voice says behind me and Mary.

My instincts take affect and I turn around with my vampire speed and give the stranger a right hook to the face. At least that is what I thought would happen. However this man was too fast for even me to see. I put my arm up in front of Mary as she got up to see who found us.

"Who are you?" I asked without knowing my voice broke out into one full of terror.

"Don't worry I'm not here to kill you. I'm just an observer of fate." He says looking down at the two of us with pitch black eyes.

I turned to Mary looking confused. Then my look becomes even more confused when I see her face. It's full of fear and it looks like she is about to pass out at any moment.

"My true name is one that's unknown to all including me. However people in Egypt have decided to call me..... Anubis."

My mind becomes really worried. Anubis. He's the Egyptian god of the dead. Every monster knew that Anubis was more than just a mere god. We all knew that he was also a real life Monster. Also we all knew he wasn't any ordinary monster. Anubis was said to be the only monster who has found the fountain of youth. However that power came at a terrifying price. One so terrifying that those he would kill monster or human alike would see their deaths by him in their dreams; and no matter what they could not escape that destiny of death.

Sorry this one took so long. I have been in a stump with every one of my books. Also I just realized how short these chapters I make are. I promise in all of my newer books I will make longer chapters instead of half paged chapters. Thanks for understanding.
