Instead of me pursuing a girl, she continued me. It flatters me, but I never dealt with a girl like this before in my life. I knew where most of the girls were coming from, but Scarlett was different. She didn't throw herself at me as most girls did; no, she did something different. She tried to annoy the piss out of me.
I thought when you like someone like genuinely like someone; you try not to annoy them. The guys got a kick out of it, especially one day when Drew thought it would be funny to let her into my bedroom when I slept.
Drew opened the door, and Scarlett tiptoed over to my bed and fucking jumped on me, making me yell, "Ack." Then I fell off the couch with a thud. I looked up to see an upside-down Drew laughing his ass off. I flipped him off as he left. Scarlett leaned over the bed. "What in the world are you doing on the floor?"
"Oh, you know, hanging around," I said.
"I never took you for a floor guy," Scarlett said, looking at me.
"Lately, I've become accustomed to the floor," I sighed, making her laugh.
I sat up and ran my hand through my hair, then grabbed my phone. "Have you ever heard of using the phone?"
"Yeah, but what fun is that?" She asked, rolling onto her back and laying her head over the side of the bed.
"Did anyone ever tell you how annoying you can act?" I said, giving her a look.
"That's one of my many charms," Scarlett grinned.
"Psh, whatever," I huffed.
"Oh, come on, you know you love this about me," she said, turning and leaning close to me.
I moved back a bit, looking at her. "Sometimes, I wonder why." Then, before I realized what happened, she smirked at me. Shit! What did I do? I got up quickly and left my bedroom with her following me.
As I picked up the pace, and she did too as I ran down the stairs. As I reached the bottom, I heard her say, "Oh, Matthew!"
I turned, and she jumped at me, crashing into me, making us both fall onto the main floor. The others stood up and were looking at us on the floor with her on top of me.
"Why must you run from me?" She asked me.
"Why must you always chase me?" I asked her back.
"Because you keep running from me," Scarlett told me.
"Well, I would stop running if you would stop chasing after me," I replied.
"What fun is that?" She asked grinning.
As we went back and forth, Elijah said to the rest of them, "What is wrong with this girl?"
"Well, it is Matt, so my guess would be everything," Junior said.
"Look, if we will get anywhere, you need to stop running from me," she said, tapping my chest.
"I didn't know we were going anywhere," I said as a matter of fact.
"Well, we are friends, are we not?" Scarlett questioned.
I thought about it for a minute. "I guess so."
"Well, friends do hang out with each other. You know do friend things," she said with a shrug.
"Are you always like this with guys?" I asked her with a look.
"Only the difficult ones," she said with a shrug.
I turned to see everyone watching us. "Don't you have anything better to do than watch us?"
