Damn, son, we did it!

Finals were upon us, and all of us were busy studying for them. We stayed away from the library because that went over so well the last time. We all camped out at the house, including the brothers.

Between lack of sleep, countless cups of coffee, and information overload, I was ready to put this semester and school year behind us.

We all showed up to our classes and all week spent taking finals at all levels. After our last final, I waited for Scarlett; then, once she finished, we went to the house to sleep. Everyone did. We were beyond exhausted.

After catching up on some much-needed sleep, I finally dragged my butt out of bed and walked downstairs. I looked around and found everyone out back around the fire pit. I took a seat next to Scarlett.

"Look who finally joined the land of the living," Drew said.

"Yeah," I said, rubbing my hair.

"Pizza," Elijah asked, handing me a pizza box.

"Hell, yeah, I'm starving," I said, taking the box and grabbing a slice from it.

"You should be. You slept through lunch and dinner, and I don't think you ate breakfast," Junior said.

"You know it will piss mom off because you lost weight from not eating," Liz said to me.

"It's not like I don't eat. I do. This week has been hell with finals," I said, taking a bite of pizza.

"Still, you look like you lost weight," she said to me.

"Don't worry; I'm sure Dad will put the weight back on with his awesome cooking. Man, I do miss his cooking. Sorry, Junior," I told Junior.

"Hey, I'm a good cook," Junior said defensively.

"Not as good as Ryan," Drew said.

"Eh, can't please everyone," Junior replied.

"How about at least make it edible? Your dad is a chef, for crying out loud," Elijah said.

"Culinary artist," he corrected Elijah.

"Or better known as a baker," Drew said, earning Junior to throw something at him.

"Do you realize we finished our freshmen year of college?" Davina asked us.

We all thought about it as Drew said, "Damn, son! We did it!"

We all clapped and cheered; then, all our phones went off. Our parents were calling. Liz talked to Mom, and I spoke to Dad, and then we switched. They were pretty excited to hear we finally finished our first year of college.

After talking to our parents, we hung up and hung with each other, reflecting on the first year.

"I still can't believe the hellions look the way they do," Junior said.

"You? The double troubles are taller than me," Elijah said.

"Everyone is taller than you," Drew said.

"Not the girls," he shot back.

"They don't count," Drew retorted.

Elijah stuck his tongue out at Drew.

"How about RJ?" Liz asked.

"It's scary how much he looks like Dad and acts like him," I said.

"Did you see how that kid stuttered at your party when he walked up?" Drew asked me.

"From what Dad told me, he is one of the most feared guys at Saintwood," I told Drew.

"I guess history repeats itself," Junior said.
