Everything was in place after Scarlett agreed to act as bait. The plan didn't thrill her about it but knew she was the one that could do this. We all kept close tabs on her as she went about her daily business. After monitoring the guy that had been following us, we got his routine down. First up was the bakery.

The door chimed, and Scarlett came out of the back to greet the customer.

"I see you came back. Can't get enough of our fresh baked goods?" Scarlett asked cheerily.

"They're the best in town," the guy said to her.

"The usual?" She asked.

"Yep," he said to her. She turned to fill his order and packaged up everything only to turn, met with a gun pointed at her.

"You know if you wanted to try something different, all you had to do was ask," she said, acting innocent.

"And what fun would that be? Now, you will carry the items, and we will walk out of here like nothing is wrong, or everyone in here will go kaboom. Got it?" The guy asked.

She nodded, still smiling. Then she yelled, "Kate? I'm taking my break! Zane needs to talk to me."

"Okay, dear," Kate yelled from the back.

Scarlett walked around from the back of the counter with the items in hand. They walked out of the bakery together.

"What do we do now?" Liz asked Kate, poking her head out from the back along with Kate.

"Call back up and hope they know what they're doing," Kate said to Liz.

The guy and Scarlett walked until they reached the edge of town and then took another path leading through the woods.

"You know, if you wanted to be alone, all you had to do was ask," she said to him.

"Yeah, but I don't. I'm not the one that wants to see you," the guys said, still pointing the gun at her.

"Well, could you tell me your name?" She asked him.

"Why? It's not important," he said to her.

"Well, maybe I think it's important," Scarlett voiced.

"That's the problem. You overthink. Now move," The ordered, pushing Scarlett.

"I'm going. Stop pushing me," Scarlett yelled at him.

They reached a house, and he opened the front door, pushing her inside, then closed it behind him.

"Leave it to Maddox to find the creepiest damn house in town," Drew mentioned.

"For his personality, it suits him," Elijah added.

"The girls know what to do?" Asked Junior.

"Yeah, they're waiting," I said.

"What about the brothers?" Junior asked.

"Just waiting for the call," I answered.

"So, we know there are the two of them and Scar in that house. I'm curious if there are any others," Drew said.

The three of us looked at each other. "Yes," we answered.

"Well, the odds got better," Drew smirked.

We waited for the others to show up. There was no way we would storm that house and get Scarlett killed.

Scarlett stood there as the guy kept the gun on her. A few minutes later, Maddox walked up and took the items from her and left.
