Chapter 37

Nolan

I woke up before Jerome did, so I decided to be the one who made breakfast for us. He made it for us yesterday anyway, so it was my turn.

I carefully got out of bed and headed to the kitchen. We didn't have much food in the fridge since we were at the hotel and whatever we didn't finish, we couldn't take back home so we got as little as we could.

We did have a lot of fruit though since I loved me my fruit.

I stared at the contents in the fridge before finally deciding what to make. I got out the strawberries, kiwis, blueberries, and yogurt to make a fruit parfait. I was still a bit tired and feeling lazy, and all I had to do was cut the strawberries and kiwis.

While I was cutting the strawberries, Jerome woke up and walked into the kitchen as he rubbed his eyes. He then stood behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and kissed my cheek. "Morning, hubby," he said.

"Morning," I said, smiling slightly. I still couldn't get over the fact that Jerome and I were actually married, so I really loved it when he called me hubby.

       "What are you making?"

       "Food."

       "Don't sass me."

"I can sass you all I want. Us Princes are very sassy."

"I know that, but you shouldn't sass me."

"Like I said, I can sass you all I want."

Jerome sighed and rested his chin on my shoulder. "That hurts. I am very much wounded now and I don't know how I'll be able to live knowing my husband doesn't really love me, for if he did, he wouldn't sass me."

I rolled my eyes. "And everyone says I'm the melodramatic one."

"I'm not melodramatic," Jerome said. "I'm just upset that you don't love me because of the amount of sass you're giving me."

"All I said was that I'm making food."

"And how you can sass me all you want."

       "Because I can."

"See? That's being mean to me."

I chuckled and turned around to give him a kiss. "Is that better?"

"I guess that will do," Jerome said. "Need any help making breakfast?"

"Not really, no," I said. "I'm just making a simple fruit parfait because I'm too lazy to make anything else, so I just need to cut the strawberries and kiwi."

"Alright, then I am going to go lay down on the couch," Jerome said. He kissed my cheek before heading over to the couch and flopping down onto it. "By the way, before lunch, we're heading up to the mountain because they sell food at the top in the lodge."

"Do we have to head up to the mountain?" I asked. "It will be too cold."

       "Don't whine."

       "I'm not whining."

"You are whining. Seriously, the mountain is a really beautiful place."

"I'm not used to the cold, though. And it will be really cold on the mountain."

"That that will be the perfect excuse to hug me or hold my hand."
