~Status: In dorms, feeding Gulliver ~

I open my trunk and take out the cat food. I pour it into his olive- green bowl. The sound of the food clinking against the glass caused Gulliver to come running towards me, and immediately began to eat. I pet him on his head and put the bag of food back into my trunk.

When I set the bag in there, I notice some parchment and some pens, from elementary, and I take them out, putting the food in their place. I take the parchment and pens with me as I run downstairs into the common room. I've decided to write to Ginny while I have the free time.

There's a fair amount of people in there, but I manage to find an empty desk, and sit down. I pick up my pink glitter-pen and began to write my letter:

   Dear Ginny,

Today's been pretty good. I've met Harry, as you know, but I've also met a girl named Hermione who's very smart, and another girl named Samantha, but we call her Sam. She's fun, she levitated  me into the air in the common room. I ended up falling onto Fred and for some reason... I felt embarrassed.

Oh!  I forgot to tell you! I'm in GRYFFINDOR! Isn't that amazing! I'm so happy! Being sorted was really scary, but it was also really fun too! But... when I was sitting on the stool, getting sorted, the boy kept staring at me. He's a third year, I found out; and his name is Alex. He's got dirty-blonde hair and blue eyes.

He's also into Poe (he's a poet but you probably don't know about him because he writes Muggle stuff, but maybe you heard it from your dad, because he's into Muggle stuff, I don't know) but he's got this giant book, full of Poe's works, and I noticed that some of the pages were coloured on, by like a little kid or something.

I asked him his he had a little sibling because I was curious about who colored on it and he said he had a little sister. And I wanted to know her age, because coloring in a book is like a little kid thing and he said his little sister is 11. And I'm like 'Hey! I'm 11, she go to Hogwarts?' and you know what he said? He said 'I think so'. I mean, isn't that weird!? Who says 'I think so' to a question like that? Strange bloke he is.

Anyways, how's things back at the Burrow? Tell Molly and Arthur I say hi. I miss you... I can't wait to see you on break, or whenever I get a chance really. I'll tell you when I get my classes and how everything goes as soon as I can.  I hope you write back soon.

                                                                                                                        Much love,

                                                                                                                                           Emily <3

I finish writing and set my pen down. I read over my work to look for any mistakes. "Pink glitter-pen?" I heard someone say mockingly. I turn my head and see that it was Fred. "So?" I asked defensively. "A glitter-pen?" he asked again, chuckling. "Wha~t? I love glitter-pens!" I say with a teasing smile. He chuckles, "Oh, okay." he said jokingly.

"Anyways, what'cha writin'?" he asked, grabbing my paper, beginning to read it. "Hey! Stop! Give it back!" I said. He straightens his arm up high so I couldn't reach it. I stand up on my chair and try to reach for my paper, but every time I move to grab it, he moves it in the opposite direction.

"Fred~ C'mon, give it back!" I said, making another move to grab my letter back. "Haha, nope!" he said, popping the 'p' and holding the letter even higher. Fred laughs. "C'mon... stop it." I said, getting tired, but still feeling determined.

"Why should I? You'll have to get it yourself." he teases. "Fine then." I said, accepting his challenge. I jump off of my chair and onto his back, surprisingly, he didn't even wobble. "I have to send it, give it back!" I said, laughing really hard. "No way!" he said, not letting go of the letter.

I heard a high-pitched scream and a laugh. I turn around to see Emily on Fred's back, trying to get something. "No way!" Fred says, moving the letter further away from her.

I nudge Harry, "What the heck mate?" I say. Harry looks over and chuckles. "Well?"  he says, at a slight loss of words. "I guess they like each other?" he says, finishing his thought. "It's... it's... weird." I said, thinking about it. "Well...I wouldn't say weird...more like.... yeah okay, weird works." Harry confirms bluntly. We laugh.

"But I mean, I don't think I've ever seen him have a crush on anybody before..." I say mystified. "Well... maybe he does now..." Harry says.

"Fred, c'mon, please~" I beg. "Fine~" he says, handing the note behind to me. I take it and jump off his back. "Thank you. Now, if you don't mind, would you  please take me to the owlry?" I say, crinkling my nose. He laughs, "Sure!" he says, with a big smile.

We walk together to the owlry, talking about who-knows-what. As we walk into the owlry, the sound of owls of all kinds fill up the room. I found a Barn Owl and gave my letter to it. I told him where, and he understood, flying off into the blue sky.

"Now, I would've sent it a lot sooner if it wasn't for a certain someone." I said snickering. "But you still got it done." he said, proving his point. We share a light laugh. "Okay, okay, whatever." I say, letting him win. We walk back to the common room, making small talk about Quidditch.

~ Time Skip: After Dinner ~

I'm sitting on the couch, petting Gulliver, hanging out with Sam. "Hey! Emily!" I heard someone say. I look away from Sam and I's conversation and see Ron and Harry. "Oh, hey! What's up?" I ask. "So, like, what was that earlier?" asked Ron. "What?" I asked confused. I try to think back to earlier in the day, but I couldn't think of anything peculiar.

"He means earlier today. Like, with Fred. When you two were like... I dunno, like you were on his back or something?" Harry says, trying to explain what they mean. "Yeah, that. Was that like a thing... or are you guys like..?" Ron says, trying to make sense on what's going on. "Oh, that! Um, we're not a thing Ron." I said, putting and emphasis on his name, "He just stole my letter to Ginny and I had to get it back, that's all." I explained.

"Mm, right, okay. Not a thing. Gotcha." Sam butted in sarcastically. "What? It's true!" I said defensively. "Well, maybe not from your point of view." Harry says. "What do you mean?" I ask. "Oh, nothing." Ron says. Sam and the boys laugh. "What~?" I ask, even though I know they're not going to tell me.

I eventually give up and we change the subject to Scabbers when he jumps from Ron's pocket, landing in Sam's lap, resulting in a scream from her and several laughs from us and some other students.
