I've been going to Hogwarts for awhile now and it's amazing. I've got many friends and I'm so glad. But that one boy Alex is still quite a mystery. It was the first morning of Christmas break and I, along with the other Weasleys stayed at Hogwarts for Christmas. Hermione and Sam went home for the break, along with most of the other Gryffindors.
Christmas was five days away and I couldn't be more excited. But I was still sad that I wouldn't get to see my parents, even if they were trying to send me to an orphanage. But I have the Weasleys here and Harry too.
I woke up at around... well, it was around lunch. Okay, okay, it was past lunch... okay fineee... I woke up at 2 PM. I hopped out of my bed and put on high-waisted black leggings and a grey sweatshirt that says 'CUTE BUT KINDA WEIRD' Then I ran into the bathroom and brushed my hair and let my waves fall. I brushed my teeth, put on some socks and black converse. It was an off day so no uniform!
I ran downstairs into the common room and saw Alex sitting there. "Oh hey Alex! You not going home for Christmas?" I asked. "Nah, I don't really have anyone anyways." he said. "You don't have anyone?" I asked.
"No... during the summer I stay with friends. My parents were Muggles and were scared of my magic and kicked me out. They were gonna try to send me to an Orphanage but I ran away before that could happen. I also had a little sister, two years younger. I think she might be a wizard here at Hogwarts too, but I don't know for sure. I hope she's alright..." he trailed off. "I'm sorry... but hey, I know she'll be alright. And if you want, I could help you find her!" I said willingly. He chuckled, "Thanks"
Someone else entered the common room. "Good afternoon sleepy headdd~" Fred said running up to me and Alex. "Hey Freddy~" I giggled. "You slept pretty late, when'd you fall asleep?" he asked. Well, technically, I went to bed at 10:30 but I stayed up until 3 listening to music. "Oh, around 11." I lied, trying to sound reasonable. He chuckled, "I heard you jammin' until 3 AM, don't try me with that 11 o'clock." We laughed.
"I think there's still some lunch left in the Great Hall, if you get there quick enough you might be able to get some." Alex laughed. "You're right, I should get some or else I won't eat until dinner." I said starving. "I'll go with you Emily!" Fred said. I laughed, "Alright, what about George?" I asked. "I think he's with Lee Jordan, they could be in the Great Hall for all I know." he said. I chuckled, "Alright, I'll see you later Alex!" I smiled, leaving. Fred didn't say anything but gave him a nod, not making eye contact.
We leave the Common Room and head to the Great Hall. Fred and I walk side by side. "So... what was that?" I asked. "What was what?" Fred questioned. "I don't know, you seemed kinda... different." I wondered. "Oh.." he mumbled. "Oh? What's the matter? You know you could always talk to me Fred..." I said sweetly, hoping he was alright.
"It's just... you've been talking to Alex a lot and... I don't know why that bothers me but..." he rambled on. I wonder why he'd be upset... I mean, Alex and I are only friends. "Alex and I are only friends, I don't know why you'd be upset?" I said, reassuringly. "Y-you're right. I don't know why I'm thinking like that." he chuckled.
I looked up into his eyes. "Don't worry Freddy, you'll always be my favorite person." I smiled sweetly. He laughed lightly. "I'm glad."
"I like your shirt by the way, it says the truth" he laughed. I giggled, "How so?" I looked down and read my sweatshirt, "Are you saying I'm a weirdo?" I laughed. "Yes, but in the best way, but I also agree with what else it says." his face turned a little pink and he looked away. "Y-you think I'm cute?" I asked slightly embarrassed. I began to giggle then it slowly became a laugh. I'm honestly not sure why I began to laugh. I do think he's super sweet and I've never had anyone call me cute before... I guess I'm just happy.
Fred gave me a confused look, "What?" he asked. "Thanks." I said smiling. He laughed and gave me a sweet smile.
We walk into the Great Hall and we saw Lee Jordan and George. There was still lunch out on the table. Platters full of mini sandwiches and cheese and crackers. We made our way over to the table where George and Lee were.
"What's up Weorge Geasley, Jee Lordan." I said laughing. "Hey guys! You're a little late to lunch." Lee said. "Yeah, but hey there's still food so I'm eating!" I said. We all laughed. I picked up a mini buffalo chicken slider (yes like the ones from Arby's, leave me alone!)
We all ate our food and left the Great Hall. "So whatcha wanna do today?" George asked. "I'm in the mood to take out the brooms, anyone else?" Lee asked. "Ooo! Yes! And we could teach Emily how to fly too!" Fred said. I laughed, "That sounds fun!"
We all went back up into the common room to change into some warmer clothes. I put on my black coat and a grey knit hat. As I went back into the main area of the Common Room I saw Ron and Harry.
"Hey you guys, wanna go outside with me, Fred, George, and Lee? We're gonna fly the brooms and Fred's gonna teach me!" I said excitedly. "Sure!" Harry said, his face lighting up. He's Gryffindor's top Quidditch player, first 1st year seeker!
We walked over the the twins and Lee. "Hey guys! Heard you're taking out the brooms?" Ron said, ready to finally do something that doesn't involve learning. "Yeah, c'mon let's go" Lee said laughing.
We all go outside, the twins and Harry with their own brooms, while Ron, Lee, and I had school rentals. Everyone but me and Fred went off into the air.
"Okay, so what you wanna do is set the broom down next to you." Fred said. We both set our brooms down to our side. "Then you're gonna wanna 'up'!" he said. I looked down at the broom next to, then looked back up at Fred with a confused look. He chuckled, "Here, like this." he said. He put his hand to his side and said "Up!" His broom flew up into his hand and he grabbed the broom. "See? Like this!" he smiled.
I put my hand to my side above my broom and said "Up!" My broom jolted up into my hand and I caught it firmly. A wide grin of satisfaction swept across my face. "Look Freddy, I did it!" I exclaimed excitedly. He laughed, "Good job Em, but that's the easy part. Now you've gotta mount it like this." he informed. He stepped over his broom with one leg and mounted it as if he was about to fly off. I copied his motions and tried my best to do it correctly.
He hopped off his broom and went over to me. "Because you're pretty small, you'll need to hold your broom more like this." Fred gently grabbed my waist and moved me back on the broom. I felt my face turn a slight pink. I felt his soft hands on mine, moving them further up the broom. "T-that's better" Fred said, his face the rose color as mine.
I giggled, "So then what?" I questioned. "Oh! R-right, right." he chuckled. He hopped back onto his broom and showed me how to push off into the air. I copied his motions and felt myself fly off the ground. The cold wind piercing my face felt amazing.
"Guys! Look!" I laughed from the air. Fred flew next to me, showing me how to steer. "You're doing great!" Fred said. We flew over to where the others were. "Wow, you're a fast learner Emily!" Ron said.
We flew around for I don't even know how long. The wind in my hair, the cold on my cheeks, the feeling of being free to fly was brilliant! We flew until sunset.
