Thankfully, you found a gift shop that had some basic art supplies. It was nothing like you had at home, but it would do it. You had learned over the years that true art didn't have to be made with the most expensive supplies but it was made with whatever you had and with your heart and soul. Art was more than a price tag. Art was an expression in whatever way you could manage.
You carried the small amount of supplies in your arms and made your way down the path at the hotel you were staying at to the beach. It was fairly quiet as it was still early in the morning so you could hear slight chattering, ocean waves lapping the shore and soft music in the background.
This was the vacation you dreamed of. Peace, isolation, and beauty. You got to the beach and took a seat on a rock that wasn't close to any of the several couples that were scattered on the beach cuddling and looking in love. You felt slightly jealous that you couldn't be with someone you loved but you didn't have any man that you loved at the time – and well, you didn't know if you ever would or could. What kind of man would want to be with a married woman? A married and broken woman at that.
With a sigh and a shake of your head, you placed the drawing pad on your knees. You picked up the simple pencil and released all of your anger into the paper. Most of the time, when you were filled with emotions, you weren't even quite sure what your hands were drawing as you furiously scratched at the paper – and this time was no different.
You weren't sure how long had passed when your hand stopped moving rapidly across the paper. You looked down and sighed at the picture of the view you had. You drew the beach, as it was. Of course, it was just a faint outline and silhouettes since you had drawn for an hour at most. The prominent feature was the three most detailed silhouettes walking towards the water. You noticed the figures to be you, Jongin and your sister walking towards the ocean together. You wanted to cry and rip the picture to shreds but you didn't.
While it was a picture of the present, it more symbolized the past. The three of you an inseparable pair who loved each other and did everything together. You missed your sister so much it hurt, as six years wasn't enough time to heal your aching heart. You wondered if Kai missed her and maybe somewhere Jongin was tucked inside remembering our happy memories together. If you hadn't lost your sister, maybe everything would be okay. Even if she would have been the one who ended up marrying Jongin even though you had loved him in the past, it would have been better than this. Jongin being nice to you would have been worth it, even if your only love would have been with your sister.
Nothing hurt nearly as losing your sister and your best friend. You weren't sure what you believed in, but you wondered if she was above the clouds watching you from above. If so, you were sure she would be disappointed in the way things had become.
"I love you," you whispered into the wind, hoping she would get the message. "I don't know how things got this bad, sis. Once you left, so did Jongin," you sighed. "You would be so disappointed." And when tears started to leak from your eyes, you wiped them away as one fell onto the paper distorting Jongin's figure on the paper. You snorted, through the tears, "Of course."
