I stood staring at myself in the bathroom mirror anticipating tonight's reunion. I was wearing the new clothes Paula and I bought at the mall. I looked even better than I thought it would. Maybe this would boost my confidence.
I prepared to be answering questions about why Cindy and I weren't together, where I met Paula at and the reason why Cindy didn't kill her.
I had decided to just answer any question with "No comment" like the people on the news do.
"You ready?" Paula stuck her head in the bathroom.
I looked at her in the mirror and smiled. "Yeah."

"You do know where the place is right?" Paula asked once we had turned out of my subdivision.
"Of course!" I said, glancing at the invitation and map that were sitting on the dashboard.
She grinned and said, "Alright!"
I nodded, tapping on the steering wheel.
"So Cindy's gonna' be there, huh?" She said in the form of a statement more thann a question.
"Yeah."
I sensed her uneasiness and rested my hand on her thigh. "Don't worry. It'll be fun. You can meet the guy I used to copy homework from," I chuckled. "He got me an A in chemistry!"
She giggled and shook her head. "I never copied homework."
I gasped and looked over at her. "You're lieing."
"Am not! Never once," She said holding her hand up.
"Ever?"
"Ever."
"Hmph. Goody two shoes." She hit me in my arm.
"Just because I did my work the hard way!" She teased.
"Mhm. The hard way, huh?"
"Yes! I was a good student, unlike you," She mocked proudly.
"Yeah, yeah," I said rolling my eyes.
"How come the reunion isn't that your school?"
I hadn't really stopped to think about that. "You know, I really don't know."
"That's strange."
"Maybe they needed a bigger place?"
"I don't know. When my cousin went to her class reunion, it as at her school."
I shrugged. "We'll never know until we get there."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As we neared the location of where the reunion was being held at, I began to think I was going in the wrong direction.
"Jason, where are we?"
"I have no clue! I'm just following the map!"
"How come you didn't buy a GPS system?"
"I'm the old fashioned type, ya' know."
"Are we even going the right way?" She asked, looking out of the window.
I looked through mine too and realized we had entered what looked like the remains of an old swamp. There were weeping willows that carried ghostly shadows against the water. I didn't even see any cars in front of or behind us.
