a/n: switching things up a little for this chapter

And so the two were suited, incredibly tired, and off to go to their ceremony. They didn't bother trying to hold back anymore, everyone knew, so they strutted in, hands twirled together. Jacob looked over at him as if he were the only and most important boy in the world. To him, he is. Troye blushed and bumped into his side, trying to make the cheesy boy stop.

"Lovesick boys," Joe Sugg teases, taking both of the boys in his arms while his boyfriend Caspar watches with rosy cheeks.

Troye smiles at the boy and waves for him to join, and so he does. He hugs the side of Troye awkwardly, Joe butting in and pulling the boy between himself and the two. This right here was the closest they would ever get to an awkward foursome. Sweaty bodies pressed together while the boys grinned in pleasure, yeah, that's really fucked up. They all broke apart and together they continued their strut to the auditorium.

"All students make way to your sections backstage, all students make way to your sections backstage." The principal orders.

They scurry to their spots, Caspar and Joe on one side while Troye and Jacob are on the other. Jacob and Caspar looked down while getting to their spots, avoiding contact with the crowds and roars of parents cheering for their children. Troye and Joe on the other hand grinned and waved at everyone while their boyfriends tugged them away. Once everyone was backstage, fidgety and excited, speakers started with their speeches. Teachers, students, and staff members shared their stories while Troye and Jacob stood back waiting patiently. They didn't have speeches planned, they just wanted their diplomas and to be looked at by society as high school graduates. Maybe they were starting to realise how boring waiting can be.

"When I walked in this school an ugly prepubescent boy, I had more friends than Bruce Wayne-" Troye snaps out of his little daze when he hears Tyler.

"Oh, brother." He whispered.

Jay chuckled, "Does he even know who that is? Bruce Wayne had like no friends, he was Batman for fuck's sake."

Troye smiles along, "Shh, it's supposed to be a secret."

The two roll their eyes and avert their attention back to the blond on stage.

"Through my few years here, I learned that it didn't matter how many friends I had. What truly mattered was the connection, the bond between the ones that actually cared. I lost many amazing friends I never really deserved to know, I've made more mistakes than I have been accounted for," Tyler glances backstage. "But I'm trying to learn from them. Everyone here in one way or another has made a mistake in their lifetime. It would be foolish to say you haven't. I guess that's the part of high school they leave out for you to learn by yourself. Forgiving. Accepting what's been done and moving on. It doesn't matter what mistakes we've made, it matters what we do after the damage has been done."

Parents begin clapping, to which Tyler puts his hand in the air for.

"And I'm just blessed to have been given the opportunity to learn here. To form from an ugly prepubescent boy into a not-so-ugly man. It's like evolving pokemon here, we're all changing, we're all gonna continue to change. And to the students who aren't graduating this year, don't worry. You'll be okay. No matter what horrific mistakes you make, you'll always have someone to slap the hell out of you and tell you to back up, get your head straight. You'll be okay. Alright- uh, thanks for listening everyone. Have a good life, later!" He waves and walks off stage to the back.

Troye and Jacob are stood a bit baffled, eyes locked with each other in complete shock as Tyler passes by them. In fact, they both manage to keep quiet for the next half hour, leaning against each other and exchanging gentle squeezes between their palms every now and then. Once the speech phase is over and more boring announcements are made, the principal begins calling out students names. Parents snap their attention back to the stage and seem to buzz in excitement. There's nothing better to them than screaming in joy once it's been made official that they've graduated and their children get their diplomas. Shaun is stood in front of the stage with two bouquets of flowers and a few people he managed to get a hold of and make come out here to show support.
