23 ~ "True love's kiss"

Carlos' POV

We decided to stay awake and take care of Hannah in the case something would change. It was my turn by the time, it was early morning and she hadn't woken up yet. Audrey has already left with Chad, Dude, on the other hand, slept peacefully in my lap. I was about to fall asleep too when I heard a little knock from the door. I sighed, put Dude on the edge of Hannah's bed and went to open. There was Jane behind the door. I froze for a moment. 'I really like that girl... why I need to act that stupid around her?!' I thought and let her finally in.

"Hey! I wanted to came and check how is she. Mom will soon find out what's wrong with her... I know it", she explained quickly and blushed when she caught me staring.

I turned my look at the ground. 'Could she probably like me back?' I shook the thought away. "She's still asleep", I answered quietly not looking back at her.

"Oh..." she mumbled.

"You can stay if you want", I said and rose my glance back at her. I tried to smile but it felt so stupid... me trying to impress her. It wasn't my thing. Jay would be good at things like this but I wasn't...

"I would love to stay... with you", she said the last part almost silently but I still heard it. I felt myself flushing too but soon got over it and let her sit on a chair next to Hannah's bed.

I continued staring at Jane. She looked so beautiful with her consider look. Suddenly she turned to look at me and caught me literally daydreaming... again, "Carlos, why do you keep staring at me?" she asked casually and stood up. We were only inches apart.

I blushed once again, "I just... well... kind of... like you...", I stuttered. Before I knew her lips were on mine. I couldn't believe she was kissing me! I started to kiss her back wrapping my arms around her.

"Aww... you two are so cute together but please, continue somewhere else. That's little too embarrassing for me", I heard a voice. We broke apart and turned to Hannah at the same time. Then we glanced at each other and started to blush. Hannah just giggled at us. I'd missed that smile.

"Umm... How long have you been awake?" I asked sheepishly not daring to look at Jane.

"Not long", she said monotonically, blinking her eyes rapidly.

"A-are you okay?" I was worried of the sudden change of her expression.

"I feel like I could just sleep all day..." she answered as her eyes started to flutter close again.

I cared about Hannah and I really hoped she'd be alright. Sitting down on the edge of her bed I begged in my mind that the Fairy Godmother would find something.

Hannah's POV

I was sleeping when the door suddenly opened. I opened my eyes and saw Fairy Godmother, Evie, Ben, Mal and Finn around me (with Carlos and Jane of course).

"She found it!" Finn said and squeezed my hand on his.

"Yes, and she didn't want to tell us before you know so we're all here now to hear", Evie explained quickly and they all started to look at Fairy Godmother.

"It was closer than I thought. That's why it was hard to find at first but when I realized what it was it was so obvious", looked like she was speaking with herself and when everyone in the room, except me, gave her a dead glare she continued, "Hannah darling, your cousin did exactly same thing to you what your aunt did your mother long ago... she froze your heart." Everyone gasped and turned to look at me.

So that was it. I should have guessed it. I, anyway, let her continue, "And I think it was an accident also in this time because Jay pulled you to the ground just on wrong time. Without him it would have hit your head or somewhere else. It actually made the situation lot more worse because the heart is more difficult to heal."

Okay, that wasn't what I expected. I thought she'd already tell us the only way to heal me. Finn started to press my hand more. He was afraid but so was everyone else in the room.

"There's only one way to heal you, 'an act of true love'", she explained and everyone else but me gasped again. I knew it already because I have of course found out everything about my mother's history.

"Like true love's kiss?" Evie cut off my thoughts. She was excitedly clancing between me and Finn.

"Yes", Godmother answered quickly, "I have to go. School continues normally but you don't have to come today if you want to be with her. But if you'll make Hannah better everyone except her will appear to classes", she said sternly and left the dorm.

"If it's okay to you I will go to classes with Mal", Ben said looking at me.

"Of course you'll... I think I can make it", I said and smiled to Mal. She smiled back and they left together. Then I turned to look at Carlos and Jane, "And you two can go and continue what I interrupted before", I said winking to them. They both blushed but went off (with Dude).

I started to look at Finn. He stared me... wait not me, my lips but he didn't do anything. Evie noticed that too and nudged Finn, "Kiss her, you idiot."

Finn stared now right into my eyes. He put his hand gently on my back and lifted me little bit up from my bed. His other hand was on my cheek. I smiled at him and put my shaking hands around his neck. He leaned slowly closer to me. I wanted to get healed. I wanted it so badly... I pressed my lips on his but I felt nothing. Nothing happened.

"I'm so sorry", I muttered when we broke apart. I saw the hurt in his eyes when he realized what happened... or what didn't. With that Finn stormed out of the room.

Evie looked at me with widen eyes. She couldn't say anything but she get it too... I didn't love him.
