(Dayu's POV)
I kissed him.
I. Am. Kissing. Him.
His lips pressed against mine. His breath brushing my face. His open eyes locked on mine.
I didn't lie when I said that this is my first kiss. I never had any time for kissing when all I did is train and hunt people for revenge.
I didn't even think about kissing someone until now. And I have no idea on what to expect in kissing.
I should have talked about this with Mei first.
I don't know what to expect from kissing so I am surprised to feel that his lips are soft. The pressure of it against mine is sweet and electricity from my lips spread through my body.
Looking at his eyes up this close is also doing things inside me that I don't understand. The black pool of his eyes look so mesmerizing up close. Open, shocked, I feel like his eyes are letting me in to take a glimpse of the man inside. Like time had frozen the whole time we are lip locked and looking at each other.
Then the shock on his eyes faded and something else replaced it. Something I can't name. Something I don't understand.
I felt his arms embraced me and my eyes grew rounder when one of his hand raised to hold the back of my head and the pressure of his lips changed.
He is kissing me back.
I felt like someone lit me on fire. Time started again and I pushed him away. We were both suprised again when the contact between us got severed.
I was shocked. Like not acting anymore shock. It's like that feeling back in his cabin while I was just recuparating from being poisoned. That confusing, scary feeling. And I did what I also did back then.
I hiccuped.
"I'm sorry," I hiccuped again and then push past him so I can get to the door.
The sword anchoring the door handles made my escape a little hard. Behind me, Captain Wang is still in shock.
I rattled the door. I have to get out! I have to get away from him! I have to put distance between us.
Lots of distance...
"Dayu..."
Him calling my name forced me into action. I pulled the sword out, hastily opened the armory door and run away. Captain Wang came after me, calling my name but I run away faster.
And faster...
I have no idea where my feet is taking me, but I am moving with muscle reflex. As long as there are ground beneath my feet, I ran.
Just to have some distance away from him.
"Dayu!"
I am confused but I am not suprised when I saw Mei running after me. If anyone can catch up on my speed, it will be the person who trained with me since childhood.
I stopped. Breathing heavily, Mei stopped beside me. "I...think," he swallowed, labored breathing again. "I am out of shape," he finished what he is saying. "Why do you have to run so fast? Are we going back to SiChuan? You ran so far, I am afraid we will get there in record time,"
I look around us. It's already darkening, trees are everywhere. I realized I ran to the forest.
Mei stared at me with worry in his eyes. "What happened? We were just about to knock on the armory to know what is going on inside there with you and the Captain when you burst out from there and ran like ten demons are after you,"
