(Mei's POV)

My blood flowed from the cut on the side of my upper arm that came from Jiang's sword.

"Mei!" Dayu abandoned the fight to come to me as I gave Jiang a wide eyed look.

He...Jiang...he...

Jiang put himself in front of Captain Wang and readied his sword. Captain Wang swayed behind him. There's a small cut on Captain Wang's collarbone and the cloth on his right side was soaked in blood. Dayu and I managed to cut Captain Wang several times and one of those cuts look serious.

Dayu put pressure on the side of my upper arm to stop the bleeding. He tore his cloth to bind my wound.

My eyes never left Jiang who stared back at me.

"Enough. The two of you should stop," Jiang said referring to me and Dayu.

Dayu turn angrily at him. "You! You dared to hurt Mei! After I trusted you!" my cousin stride to Jiang and attacked my lover.

Jiang defended himself but he will never be a match to Dayu. With Dayu's speed and skill, only a defense specialist can stop my cousin.

Which is what Captain Wang did. He held his sword on his left hand as his other hand was pressed on his wounded side.

He helped Jiang blocked Dayu. Even fighting my cousin himself. My eyes still never left Jiang who is helping the staggering Captain Wang to defend against Dayu who is enraged as he fight the two captains.

Is this our ending? The four of us, wounding each other. I felt anger raise inside my chest. Is this what fate had for us? To see us fight and kill each other?

Jiang, Captain Wang, Dayu and I...

Is it suppose to be like this?

My hand tighten on the handle of my sword. I feel tired all of a sudden. My side arm hurt. I look around. Every soldiers and official just look at the four of us.

No one from Governor Feng's camp. Thay all knew Dayu and I will punish anyone who will interfere with our battle.

Our battle is our battle.

No one from this base camp will help Captain Jiang and Captain Wang. It's a respect for the two captains. I have served in this camp, this is about pride.

Plus Captain Wang just lost his father. Everyone knew he is hurting and venting that hurt by fighting his assasin lover.

But I am already tired. Dayu is running on empty. Captain Wang is wounded already. And Jiang...

Jiang already took a side.

I sighed heavenward as the sounds of the steel against steel wash over me. I twirl the sword on my hand and tightened my hold on it again.

Then I strode on that fight to help Dayu.

(Dayu's POV)

Mei's blade appeared to block the slash of Captain Wang's sword. My cousin followed that with a swung of his sword to slash sideways at Captain Jiang who took a step back and raised his sword to avoid Mei's blade.

I swung my sword. Captain Wang blocked it and we push each other away.

My heart is racing. I find it hard to gather air on my lungs but I keep my sword up to show them that I can still fight.

The four of us face each other.

"I think that is enough," Mei said in a tone devoid of emotion. "I think we all made our choices here. Let's stop..." he added as he put his hand holding his sword to his wounded other arm.
