(Qing's POV)
Looking out for General Liuwie is the key.
I am absolutely certain that he will be the next target of "The Shadow" to eliminate.
If I can intercept "The Shadow" plan to kill the last elite guard of the Master General and my father, then maybe I can save my father from the assasin's evil plan.
And free Dayu from his clutches.
Two birds in one stone. Not a bad plan.
But if that fails, I can still take Dayu away. I already submitted my tranfer request form on the administration office. My father is aware of my desire to be closer to my mother and sisters. I am hoping that when he sees my transfer request form he will allow me to leave.
Dayu, I will talk to Mr.Shu personally to inform him of my plan to take my lover with me when I leave.
But until my paper to transfer was signed, I still have to try and catch this assasin.
My father's life and Dayu's too will depend on my ability to stop this monster.
But the problem is General Liuwie. He is a paranoid man. Always looking behind his shoulder. Suspicious. Watchful. Cautious.
Like he knew a shadow was after him.
I guess when you saw your comrades get killed in the most gruesome way, you will get scared too.
But General Liuwie being paranoid is making it hard for me to keep an eye on the man. He never leaves his two superiors. Always standing by their side. It's like the role had been reversed. He is no longer guarding General Zong and my father. He is using them as safeguards and shields.
Clever bastard.
And I also have Dayu in my mind. I talk to someone to keep an eye on him. I instructed that someone to report to me if Dayu is doing something suspicious or if someone suspicious will approach my lover.
I told that person I assigned to guard Dayu but be very discreet while doing it. I am scared that someone, like "The Shadow" himself, will snatch Dayu and took him away if he got suspicious that someone is looking out for Dayu.
That will be a nightmare for me.
Dayu had to be within my eyesight. He had to stay here in the camp until I can take him away to Beijing where I can protect him. Then we will be miles away from SiChuan and the infamous assasin living there.
I glance sideways to General Liuwie as he stands near General Zong while the Master General is instructing his officers to start inquiring about building another military base camp like this in Hubei, another neighbor of Shaanxi.
"Should we scout the land?" General Zong asked his personnels.
"I think that would be the wisest thing to do Master General." Answered a coronel. "Remember that we also scouted this place before we built the military base here a dozen summers ago."
General Zong frown and nodded. He looked at my father. "I think I should go to the location scouting alone. You can stay here to keep running the military base." Then he turn to General Liuwie, "Will you come with me?" he asked his guard.
"I will Master General," General Liuwie replied.
"I approve of your plan Master General," my father said. General Zong nodded in satisfaction. "Then we will move in tomorrow after noon to Hubei. Take this day and the morning tomorrow to prepare for travel. Ask two troops to accompany us," he intructed General Liuwei.
