(Qing's POV)

The feast commence. Higher ups and lowly soldiers joined together to toast up the safe arrival of the Master General and his entourage.

Everyone wanted to know what kind of news the group had about their trip to Beijing and the meeting with the Emperor.

Me, I am not particularly curious. As long as we have the continued support of the Capital's Counsel and peace reign in the land, I am content to train soldiers under me.

War can wait. I want peace in my
life, with Dayu in it.

After eating, the Master General gave a rousing speech that heightened up the excitement of the crowd. He has always been an exceptional speaker. A toast was raise in the air then he looked at my father who sat beside him. My father nodded.

My father stood and came to me. He leaned down to say, "Follow us. We have news to share with you,"

I nodded and followed the two generals. I wonder if this meeting will take long. I want to be done for the night so I can be with the person I want to be with.

We entered General Zong's office where they made me sat on a chair in front of the table.

"We have great news for you Qing ah," my father do look excited as he speaks. "I have secured a match for you."

I was surprised, "A match? What kind of match?"

"A bride Captain," General Zong answered.

A bride?!

I looked at my father, "Why? I have never expressed a desire to be married father,"

My father frown at me, "You are approaching your 25th summer. It is high time that you got bethrothed. I found a bride for you,"

My curiousity got to me, "Who?"

"The first born princess of the Emperor," my father answered.

I was stunned. The first born princess?! "Isn't she married already?" That's what I know.

"Her husband died of sickness a year ago." General Zong said.

"And they are looking to get her married again?" I stood and look at my father, "She will be at least 10 summer older than me. She had been married twice, both her husbands died. And you want me to marry her? Why?"

"Qing ah," my father came closer to me, "My son,"

"Father, if I didn't know that you love me I will think you want me to be dead just like the princess' husbands. Two dead husbands? Isn't she cursed?"

"Wang Qing!" My father looked scandalized. I sighed, "I'm sorry but I think you have to find another candidate to be her husband number three. I won't marry her,"

I turn to walk away but what General Zong said next stopped me ony track.

"It is not because of that helper lover of yours, right Captain Wang?" I swiveled around to stare at the Master General. He looked relaxed as he sat behind his table, "You are not saying no because of a lowly servant, are you?"

"Don't be ridiculous Master General. My son is not serious about that servant," my father chimed in.

I look back and forth between them. My blood getting a little hot as they continued to talk about Dayu as a servant.

The most important person in my life, a mere servant in the eyes of these two generals.

How...strange...

"I won't ask how you knew about me and my lover," I said amidst their debate about the seriousness of my feelings for Dayu. "But you will call off your spies Baba,"

"Why should I?" my father gave me an authoritative look. "You are my son. I am concern about your welfare. Marriage will be good for you and..."

"I am a man. I am already a grown man. I can decide for myself if I wanted to marry or not. If I want a male lover or not. You will not decide that for me Father," my voice rang in a clear challenge on his authority.

"Wang Qing!"

"I will not marry any princess. I don't know why you have decided that Baba but I highly doubt that it's for my own good. I hope you have not given your word yet because you will have to take it back. Or risk shame into our name,"

I turn around again to leave. "You are the one that will bring shame into our name!" my father's angry words chased me. "You will heed my word Wang Qing, I am your father. You will marry the princess..."

"No I will not," I say without turning back to them.

"Then it will be a shame if something will happen to that helper," General Zong said.

I turn around fast. Did he...just threatened Dayu?

I gave them both a cold look, my anger on a tight leash. How dare them threatened the man I love? Did they really think that that will make me submit to what they want? Help them with their agenda? That threatening Dayu will make me their puppet on strings?

It's too ridiculous I can't even laugh.

I am never meant to be controlled. By anyone...

"Touch him and you will deal with me," I said in an iced cold tone. I meet my father's eyes. "You raised me, you must have an inclination about what I can do. Touch him and you will force me to move."

"Qing ah," fear appeared in my father's eyes.

Good. He knew me after all. He raised me. He knew who I studied under from. What kind of person I am before that training I had under Master Gao.

If they touch Dayu they will find out what a defense specialist like me is all about. What kind of power I had inside me that I left to sleep.

But if they do something to Dayu, I will unleash all those power to them.

Destroying them will not be the question. It is how I will destroy them that they should think about.
